Bellevue-based insurance brokerage firm Parker, Smith & Feek elected as shareholders Herb Van Der Veer and Johnmichael Monteith. Van Der Veer is a vice president and consults with commercial clients on insurance and risk management. Chief Information Officer Johnmichael Monteith manages the firm's information technology.
San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants promoted Yvonne Ruppert to its national sales team. Ruppert will be based in Seattle and direct national accounts for the West Coast. She directed sales at the Hotel Vintage Park in Seattle.
The Empty Space Theatre appointed Melanie Matthews managing director. Matthews has 10 years of experience in the arts, including work with U.K. theatre company Kneehigh Theatre as well as the Colorado Council on the Arts. She will work on helping the Empty Space adopt a new business model.

Point B Solutions Group promoted Mike Pongon to managing director in its Portland practice, where he has been a director for three years. Company officials say Point B will hire up to 10 new associates in the next few months to double its staff in Portland, and add 60 new associates in its Seattle office. The company focuses on project leadership for distribution and manufacturing companies around the world.
Bothell-based company Seattle Genetics promoted Eric L. Dobmeier to senior vice president of corporate development. Dobmeier will manage the company's legal affairs, business development and corporate communications. He represented technology companies at Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe. Seattle Genetics works to find therapeutics to treat cancer and immunologic diseases.
