Megan Nedzinski joined GGLO as an architect. She is LEED accredited and is working on renovation of the Cobb Building in downtown Seattle. Stephen Gibson is LEED accredited and is acting as project manager on a full-block, mixed-use development in Portland's Pearl District with a grocery store, parking and office space. Tatiana Kirova joined as a project architect and LEED accredited designer with 16 years of experience. She is currently working on mixed-use projects in South Lake Union and the Westlake area. Architectural intern Erin Parker joined the team for a residential condominium project in the South Lake Union neighborhood. Project architect, Carl Dominguez brings seven years of experience to GGLO. He joined the team for Western & Clay, a multifamily residential project in Seattle. Project manager Doug Powell has 18 years of experience. He is managing the Avalon on the Square and Opus 8th & Madison mixed-use projects. Project manager Steve Nordlund brings experience working on a condo project in South Lake Union. Lindsey McBride is an interior design intern, who is working on multifamily projects, including the Broadway and Pine project on Capitol Hill.

Seattle-based Johnson Braund Design Group named James G. Turney director of hospitality. Turney has 20 years of experience designing government, defense and education projects. Johnson Braund provides architecture, landscape architecture and interior design services.

Parametrix promoted Peter Battuello to managing principal in its Bremerton office. He is a geologist, with 16 years of experience on brownfields redevelopment and hazardous waste remediation.

Portland architecture firm Thomas Hacker Architects added Vaughan Reynolds as project architect for a $25 million building for the University of California, Merced. Heather Flegel worked for Dull Olson Weekes Architects on K-12 educational projects, and will manage projects for the city of Sherwood. Andrew Schilling is working on an addition to the U.S. port of entry in Blaine. Patrick Thorne is an office assistant. Thomas Hacker Architects designs libraries, higher education buildings and civic buildings.

Portland's Opsis Architecture added intern architects Weston Becker, Eric Black, Joy Igo and Jennifer Schniedwind. Becker recently completed a graduate teaching fellowship at the University of Oregon. Black will work on a building expansion at Shoreline Community College. Igo was with Starck Architecture + Planning. Schniedwind was an intern at Fletcher Farr Ayotte.

Alexandra Zimmer will direct interior design. Other new interior designers are Dustin Dis and Keri Heus. Zimmer has 20 years of experience including work at Dull Olson Weeks on K-12 projects. Dis was with Karol Niemi Associates as an interior designer, and was also a production engineer at Alexander Manufacturing. Heus was a designer at Marshall Erdman & Associates in Madison, Wis. Opsis works on civic, higher education and cultural arts facilities in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana.

CollinsWoerman

The architecture, planning and design firm CollinsWoerman named health care planner and designer Brian Berg a principal. Berg will help set strategic direction and lead health care initiatives. Also working to set the company's direction are Marguerite Jamieson, John Swolgaard and Joe Workman. Directors are business develoment head Elizabeth Morgan and operations director David O'Brien. Ten firm members were named associates: Tim Bissmeyer, John Espe, Grant Faust, David Holmes, Larry Lelan, Pat Logan, Bill Okazaki, Bev Tiedje, James Walker and John Whitlow.

Canyons Restaurant has promoted three employees. Steve Roach is now director of operations, William Jones is corporate kitchen manager, and Celeste Coxen is manager of Canyons Restaurant in Redmond. Roach, formerly general manager for Canyons, has 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry. Jones and Coxen are former kitchen managers for Canyons. The chain opened in 1993 in Bothell and has restaurants in Mountlake Terrace, Redmond and Monroe.

Northwest Capital Management

Portland-based Northwest Capital Management added three principals. Each had been working at Arnerich Massena & Associates. Scott A. Faris was managing director of retirement consulting there. Brent J. Petty will work on Northwest Capital's client relations, portfolio management and investment policy design. Terri M. Schwartz joins as director of sales and marketing.

Global Market Insite

Seattle-based Global Market Insite, an Internet-based market research provider, named Larry Schack, Ph.D., to the new job of vice president of global client services, to lead efforts in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, China, Asia Pacific and Japan. Mark Houston, formerly vice president of marketing is now chief marketing officer, a new position at GMI. Schack worked for Microsoft on the corporate research group and the corporate communications team. Houston was formerly president and CEO of the California Kiwifruit Commission.
