Charter Bank

Charter Bank hired Arnie Gunderson as vice president and relationship manager for the Redmond branch office. He was director of small business services for BECU. Charter Bank is a private bank for family-owned businesses and professionals in Greater King County.

Berk & Associates

Berk & Associates hired Desiree Phair and Pia Franzese as associates. Phair is an analyst, researcher and economist. Franzese was a Fulbright scholar in Spain's Galicia region. Berk & Associates is a public-policy consulting firm in Seattle.

Heathman Hotel Kirkland

The Heathman Hotel in Kirkland made some new hires. Nancy DeMond is director of sales and marketing. John Smiley is rooms division manager. Tita Lee is director of Penterra Spa and Mike Douglas is general manager of Trellis, the hotel's restaurant. The hotel, restaurant and spa is expected to open in July.

Intermec

Everett-based Intermec saidd Larry D. Brady, chairman and CEO, will retire as CEO pending the board of directors' identification of his successor. Brady has been CEO of Intermec and its predecessor Unova since September 2000. He will reach normal retirement age for the company at year-end. Intermec develops, manufactures and integrates chain asset technologies.

Faithful+Gould

New York City-based Faithful+Gould hired Christy Pain as corporate communications manager. Pain is responsible for leading the company’s communications and public relations efforts throughout its 24 offices, including its Seattle location. She is based in Orlando, Fla. Faithful+Gould is a construction consultant.

AGC of America

Several Pacific Northwest firms won safety awards at the recent AGC/Willis Construction Safety Excellence Awards in San Antonio. Local first place winners included: EC Company of Portland, Specialty Contractor over 1 million work hours; Hamilton Construction of Springfield, Ore., Highway Division 100,001—300,000 work hours; and LTM Inc. of Medford, Ore., Highway Division over 1 million work hours. New Tech Electric of Portland won a second place award in the Specialty Contractor 100,001— 300,000 work hours category.

Charter Bank hired Mark Lindquist as an assistant vice president and business development/office manager for the downtown Seattle location. He was a branch manager for U.S. Bank. Charter Bank is a private bank for family-owned businesses and professionals throughout King County.

Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson

The Seattle law firm of Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson added Kyle P. Durand as a lawyer in the litigation and family law departments. Durand practiced law with the Office of the Judge Advocate General in Washington, D.C.

Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson

Seattle law firm Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson named D. Christian Addicott a principal. His practice emphasizes business and real estate transactions.

Seattle Genetics

Seattle Genetics hired Dr. Thomas C. Reynolds as chief medical officer in the Bothell-based company. Reynolds will oversee clinical and regulatory activities focused on cancer and autoimmune disease and was at Zymogenetics. Seattle Genetics focuses on therapies for treating cancer and immunologic diseases.
