The Fearey Group, a Seattle-based public relations and public affairs firm, promoted Natalie Quick to senior vice president, Lora Lee to vice president, Aaron Blank to account supervisor and Kate Miller to account executive.

Forest2Market

Forest2Market, a Charlotte, N.C.-based provider of raw-material pricing data for the forest-products industry, has expanded to the Pacific Northwest. The regional headquarters will be in Eugene, Ore. Gordon Culbertson will lead business in Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho and Montana. Culbertson was with Rose Logging.

Pelindaba Lavender

Pelindaba Lavender recently opened its first Seattle retail store at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Union Street in the City Centre Building. The store sells lavender products from Pelindaba's organic lavender farm on San Juan Island.

AGC of Washington

The Associated General Contractors of Washington appointed Rick Slunaker as director of state and national government affairs and hired Jerry VanderWood as director of communications, Stacy Mullane as member services coordinator and Rebecca Kurek as continuing education associate with the Education Foundation. Slunaker had been associate director of state and national government affairs for 13 years. He is replacing Duke Schaub, who spent 20 years with the AGC. VanderWood previously was director of communications for the Institute for Community Change. Mullane was an administrative assistant at the University of Arizona. Kurek is a recent graduate of Seattle University.

EcoStar

EcoStar, a manufacturer of steep-slope roofing materials, added Frank Saldana as western regional manager. Saldana is overseeing sales in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, California, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Hawaii, as well as British Columbia, Canada. He has more than 10 years of construction industry experience. EcoStar is a division of Carlisle Construction Materials.

Smead Capital Management

William W. Smead has formed Smead Capital Management in Seattle, with plans to open another office in Scottsdale, Ariz. Smead Capital Management is an independent management firm for high net worth individuals and institutional investors. Smead has 27 years of experience and operated the Smead Investment Group of Wachovia Securities.

Gallery 3131

Aaron Morris recently opened Gallery 3131 at 3131 Western Ave., Suite 318, in Seattle. Morris has owned eight businesses.

Intermec

Everett-based Intermec's board of directors elected Patrick J. Byrne as president and chief executive officer, succeeding Larry D. Brady, who is retiring. Byrne worked at Hewlett Packard and Agilent Technologies. The board also elected Allen J. Lauer as non-executive chairman of the board. Lauer has been a director of Intermec since 2004. Intermec develops, manufactures and integrates chain asset technologies.
