Viking Bank

Dana Giove has been promoted to senior vice president and retail sales market manager at Viking Bank. Giove joined Viking Bank eight months ago as vice president and mortgage manager. Viking Bank has eight branches in the Puget Sound area.

Virginia Mason Medical Center

Virginia Mason Medical Center hired new physicians in July and August. It hired Elizabeth Alley, David Auyong and Wyndam Strodtbeck as anesthesiologists. Mary Pinder-Schenck will work in hematology/oncology. Kris Kowdley is a hepatologist. Andrew Ross will work in gastroenterology. Gautam Velamoor is a cardiothoracic surgeon. Brandee Grooms is a hospitalist. Chia Wang will work in infectious disease. Kristin Nyweide joined Virginia Mason Sand Point Pediatrics. John Frederick joined Virginia Mason Medical Center in psychiatry. Craig Blackmore is a radiologist.

Neah Power Systems

Neah Power Systems hired Daniel Rosen, Ph.D., as executive chairman, extending his role as chairman of the board of directors. Rosen is CEO of Dan Rosen & Associates, a business he founded in 2006. Neah Power Systems is a Bothell-based developer of fuel cells for military applications, notebook computers and portable electronic devices.

GGLO hired Gary Schaefer as a senior associate and Robert Mech as an architectural designer II. Schaefer has experience in commercial/institutional, hotel, transportation and medical projects. He is working on the Seattle Civic Square. Mech's recent experience is in retail and financial institutions. He is on the team for University Village.

Hatton Godat Pantier

Hatton Godat Pantier hired Tom Trotter as senior project engineer. Trotter has 12 years of experience as project engineer for public facilities, commercial, industrial and residential developments. His experience also includes designs for storm drainage, erosion control, site grading, and water and sewer systems.

Notkin Mechanical Engineers made several new hires. Design team additions are Brad Lentz and Bobby Reyes as designers, and Teeraphan Chavanachat, Ivan Ittner and Scott Schorn as licensed project engineers. Robert Rosenbaum returns to Notkin as a project manager. Lentz is supporting education and health care project teams. Reyes has 15 years of experience with institutional, health care and commercial clients. He is working on projects for the General Services Administration, Harborview Medical Center and Naval Hospital Bremerton. Chavanachat has 25 years of experience and is working on Navy and Evergreen Hospital and Medical Center projects. Ittner is part of the Navy P-169 Hangar Recapitalization and Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital master plan teams. Ittner worked on the University of Washington Science Hall Sediment Samples Walk-In Cold Storage and Harborview Medical Center's Inpatient Expansion Building. Schorn has 15 years experience in project management and design. He is on the Virginia Mason Medical Center East Campus addition team and worked on the Nordstrom flagship store mechanical renovation and the Swedish Issaquah Campus emergency and imaging center. Rosenbaum has 40 years of experience, with an emphasis on health care design, and is project manager for the Virginia Mason Medical Center East Campus hospital addition central plant. He worked on Harrison Medical Center, Providence Healthcare and Swedish Medical Center. Administrative and CAD staff additions are Nancy Bischoff as word processor/operations support, Cheryl Chaltry as receptionist, Mike Mielenz as controller and Charlie Peters as CAD technician.

Mayer/Reed

Mayer/Reed hired Anne Samuel as a landscape designer. Samuel is in the Landscape Architecture Group and is working on the Walk of the Heroines at Portland State University, a master plan for the Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls and Mary's Woods, a retirement community in Lake Oswego, Ore.

Aegis Engineering

Aegis Engineering hired Tina Dannaker as engineering consultant. Dannaker was senior building plans examiner for the city of Raleigh, N.C.
