Ragen MacKenzie, a division of Wells Fargo Investments, promoted Mark McClure to president and Brock Loen to director. McClure has 30 years experience in wealth management and was executive vice president and branch manager of Ragen MacKenzie in Bellevue. He will oversee 89 people. Loen has 17 years experience and will oversee 48 people.
Law firm Stoel Rives announced Rita Alli, its director of professional development, has been appointed to a second two-year term on the board of directors for the Association of Legal Administrators. Alli has been a member of the association since 1995 and is also on its Advisory Panel.
The Newcastle City Council elected Ben Varon as mayor and Dan Hubbell as deputy mayor. Both are sworn in and will serve until December 31, 2009. Varon was elected to the Newcastle City Council in 2001 and 2005. He was also deputy mayor in 2001 and 2002. Hubbell was elected to the city council in 2005 and is a program manager at Microsoft Corp.
Enterprise Seattle named Gov. Chris Gregoire winner of its 2007 Public Sector Economic Development Champion Award; Paula Reynolds, Safeco CEO, its Private Sector Economic Development Champion; and Kemper Freeman Jr., a Bellevue developer, the Puget Sound Business Journal Executive of the Year. Enterprise Seattle provides client-based economic development services and aims to grow the jobs and tax base in King County.
The Port of Tacoma promoted David Myers to senior project manager, responsible for capital projects related to redevelopment of the Blair-Hylebos Peninsula. Myers joined the port in 2003 as a project manager and was an architect for Thomas Cook Reed Reinvald Architects before that.






The Inland Northwest Associated General Contractors of America earlier this month elected its 2008 officers and board of directors. The officers include: Walt Haneke of ACI Northwest, president; Clancy Welsh of Garco Construction, first vice president; Mark Poe of Poe Asphalt Paving, second vice president; and Judy Rapp of Wolf-Majeskey-Rapp, treasurer. New directors include Gary Hite of Hite Crane & Rigging, Jeff Middleton of Power City Electric and Kelli Franco of Moss Adams.
Mike Poppoff of Poppoff Inc. in Moxee was re-elected vice president of the American Society of Concrete Contractors based in St. Louis.
