Express Construction

Mercer Island’s Express Construction hired Terry Galassi as a superintendent in its special projects division. Galassi has more than 30 years of construction experience. He has worked as a drywaller and a carpenter, as well as a project supervisor.

KeyBank

KeyBank hired Michael Wallingford as senior vice president and market manager in Bellevue. Wallingford will direct a team of financial analysts. Wallingford formerly worked at Key, but spent the past 10 years at Wells Fargo.

Rohde & Van Kampen

The Seattle office of law firm Rohde & Van Kampen hired Nathan T. Paine as an associate. He is a 2003 graduate of the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley. He will be working in intellectual property, health care and business litigation.

U.S. Small Business Administration

The U.S. Small Business Administration's Seattle District Office named Kusak Cut Glass Works of Seattle as the 2008 Washington State & Region 10 Jeffrey Butland Family-Owned Small Business of the Year. The award honors a business which has been passed on from one generation to another. Kusak Cut Glass Works operates in the Rainier Valley. It is operated by Anton C. (Chuck) Kusak III, who is the third generation of his family to operate the business since 1914.

Coinstar

Coinstar, a Bellevue-based provider of business solutions for retail operations, hired Paul D. Davis as chief operating officer. Davis has 30 years of experience in consumer packaged goods and retail operations. He has worked with PepsiCo, Kettle Foods and Starbucks Coffee Co.

ArtWorks

ArtWorks is moving to 923 S. Bayview St. in Seattle. Seattle-based ArtWorks give at-risk youth opportunities to create art. It was founded in 1995 to help clean up the busway in Sodo. The new space will allow ArtWorks to expand the studio for mural painting.

First Heritage Bank

First Heritage Bank will open its seventh branch on Nnortheast 175th Street in Woodinville. Kirtley Cole is the general contractor and Mosaic Architects is the architect. First Heritage Bank has branches in Everett, Lynnwood, Marysville, Monroe, Arlington and Snohomish.

Fisher Communications

Fisher Communications, a Seattle-based communications company, named Joseph L. Lovejoy acting chief financial officer following the resignation of S. Mae Fujita Numata from her position as senior vice president, CFO and corporate secretary. Lovejoy has been a senior vice president since 2006.

Lee & Hayes

Spokane law firm Lee & Hayes will move its headquarters to 30,000 square feet in the Bank of America Financial Center in downtown Spokane. Lee & Hayes will occupy the 14th floor and most of the 13th. The firm is interviewing architects, and plans for construction to begin by early summer.

Small Business Administration

The U.S. Small Business Administration's Seattle District Office named Mary Jo Juarez of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Northwest as the 2008 Washington State SBA Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year. The award goes to an individual who advances small business opportunities for veterans. Juarez is a civilian who works as a small disadvantaged business utilization specialist at NAVFAC in Silverdale.
