KeyBank hired Lysa Barbano as an area retail leader in Tacoma. Barbano will oversee retail operations of the 14 South King County branches. She worked at Bank of America for 17 years.
Cruise West, a small-ship cruise line in Seattle, hired Dietmar Wertanzl as president and chief executive officer. Wertanzl was chief operating officer at Tauck World Discovery. He replaces Jeff Krida who retired in January.
Seattle law firm Cairncross & Hempelmann hired Sandip Soli to the real estate team. Soli worked at Carney Badley Spellman and practices in commercial real estate transactions.
Hodgson/Meyers, a full-service marketing and communications agency in Kirkland, hired Colleen Richardson as a production manager, Willem Buys as a production designer and Shaye Mitchell as an account coordinator/project manager. Richardson worked at Hacker Group, Buys worked with Kendall Ross and Mitchell was promoted from marketing project manager.



Seattle-based nonprofit Provail will move its Wallingford headquarters to 12550 Aurora Ave N. by July 1. This puts Provail closer to its assembly and fabrication facility on 128th Street. The 15,000-square-foot building is occupied by the Washington State Employment Security Office. Provail serves people with all types of disabilities. Bob Meyer of Ewing & Clark was the leasing agent.
Lauren Powell has joined the Bellevue office of GVA Kidder Mathews, where she will specialize in office leasing and sales in the brokerage division.
Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services named its top investment specialists for 2007 and Robert Sheppard in the Seattle office ranked No. 5 out of more than 1,300 nationwide. He facilitated transactions valued at $377 million last year. Sheppard joined Marcus & Millichap in 1993 and was promoted to senior vice president of investments in January.
The second part of the Downtown Bellevue Growth Series will be an outlook on retail. Nearly 1.5 million-square-feet of new retail space is scheduled to open in the next three years. The speakers will be Susie Detmer of Cushman & Wakefield and Jennifer Leavitt of Kemper Development. The event will be on April 22 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Westin Bellevue. REAPS (Real Estate Association of Puget Sound) will meet on April 24 from 7 to 10 p.m. The first hour of the meeting will be a panel discussion called “Two New Laws Affecting Real Estate Investors.” The second hour with feature Hoan Do, a performance strategist from the Anthony Robbins Co.
