The U.S. Department of Energy hired Stacy Charboneau as the assistant manager for tank farms at its Office of River Protection near the Hanford site in southeastern Washington. She will be responsible for the continued safe storage and removal of 53 million gallons of chemical and radioactive waste from 170 underground tanks at Hanford. Charboneau was deputy assistant manager for river corridor cleanup at the Richland Operations Office.
Seattle-based Visible Technologies, a provider of Internet monitoring, analytics and social media solutions, hired Chris Lohman as director of client strategies. Lohman was managing director, northwest region, for JWT Inside.
Seattle-based mbi, a dealer of office furniture, hired Tom Wolfe as design director. Wolfe was an mbi employee for 16 years before leaving to work as global facilities manager at Starbucks. mbi specializes in creating harmonious business environments and is a Herman Miller dealer.

Berk & Associates, a public policy and management consultancy, hired Heather Rogers as a financial/policy analyst. Rogers worked in microfinancing for Accion Chicago.
Avanade, a global IT consultancy, said Mitch Hill will step down as chief executive officer at the close of the company's 2008 fiscal year on Aug. 31. Adam Warby, Avanade's general manager of Europe and executive vice president of sales and marketing, will become CEO on Sept. 1. Hill was instrumental in the formation of Avanade in March 2000 and has been its CEO from the start.
The Department of Labor and Industries hired Carole Washburn as deputy director of operations. Washburn was executive secretary for the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission. She succeeds Vernon Stoner in her post at L&I.

Northwest Hospital & Medical Center hired Donna Richman to its medical staff as a board-certified internist. She will be joining the practice of Sandpoint Internists at 10330 Meridian Ave. N. She is also an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Vancouver-based MacKay & Sposito said Andrew Young has been appointed to the Southwest Washington Chapter of the American Red Cross board of directors. Young served as a combat engineer in the military for eight years and is a project manager in the public sector project team and M&S. M&S has offices in Vancouver and Kennewick, and Wilsonville, Ore.
Craig Macdonald has founded Corporate Strategies Search in Bellevue. CSS provides executive search and human resources consulting services. Macdonald has recruited managers and executives since 1975. He has worked with Weyerhaeuser Co., Houser Martin Morris and a personnel consulting/executive search firm.
Regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt recently hired new summer associates who will work in the Portland, Seattle and Vancouver offices. Magnusson Klemencic Associates promoted three employees to senior associates and three to associates. Rob Chmielowski, David Fields and Paul Larson were promoted to senior associates. Robert Baxter, Michael Rehder and Joe Taflin were promoted to associates.




IA Interior Architects hired Gina Bryan as contract manager in its Seattle office. Bryan joins IA from STDR Architects in Costa Mesa, Calif., where she was a project/marketing coordinator. She has more than 10 years of experience working with architects, engineers and general contractors on commercial and industrial projects. IA Interior Architects also hired Josh Khanna as project manager in its Seattle office. Khanna has more than 13 years of experience in corporate, financial and entertainment design. She joins IA from Wolcott Architecture | Interiors in Los Angeles, where she served as project manager.
MGH Associates, a land planning and civil engineering firm, promoted Maria Cahill to sustainability technical advisor. She was previously a project manager. She will help ensure the firm is meeting targets for green design service delivery, lead the refinement and development of MGH’s green design tools, and provide client and community outreach to support the firm’s sustainability initiatives.
