ZZA-Terracon hired four new employees in its Bellevue office. Kristina Weller holds dual positions as office manager and geotechnical engineer. Weller has more than 16 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and earthwork in the Seattle area. Scot Wise has joined the staff as a project manager. Wise has worked for geotechnical firms in Spokane and Bellevue. He will set up ZZA-Terracon’s new CMT laboratory and develop client relationships to support a growing Bellevue office. Brendan Perkins joins the firm as senior field technician. His areas of expertise include nuclear densometer testing, geotechnical construction observation and logistical field support. Stephanie Poarch was hired as a corporate service representative in Bellevue. She has a background in technical writing.
DLR Group hired Jason Tornquist as a structural designer. Tornquist is a recent graduate and will be working on a variety of projects.
BCRA hired Timothy Haddick as senior project manager, Scott Wood as senior building science consultant and Cathy McKay as marketing coordinator. Haddick comes to BCRA from the Federal Aviation Administration, where he worked on projects for Sea-Tac Airport, Bellingham International Airport, Paine Field, Olympia Regional Airport and Great Falls International Airport in Montana. He works in retail and military markets. An instructor for the Building Science Institute, Wood has certification in Infrared Building Science Applications and is a certified Level II thermographer. He is working on state, banking and retail projects. McKay has nine years of experience, and was previously with Brown & Caldwell and Parametrix.
First Sound Bank promoted John Maihofer from cash management officer to vice president and relationship manager. Maihofer joined First Sound in 2006 and began his banking career in 2000.
Seattle-based Fearey Group, a public relations and public affairs firm, announced a formal affiliation with public relations agencies in Singapore, India and Amsterdam through the Public Relations Global Network. The companies are Mileage Communications of Singapore, Aspire Communications of India and Evident PR of Amsterdam.
Seattle Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tim Gallagher named Sue Goodwin recreation director, Robb Courtney director of the parks division, Kevin Stoops planning and development director and Michael Shiosaki deputy director of planning and development. Goodwin was director of recreation and community services in Ontario, Calif.; Courtney was parks and recreation manager for the city of Gresham, Ore.; Stoops has worked with Seattle Parks since 1981; Shiosaki is rejoining Seattle Parks and is the former manager of the Pro Parks Levy program.
Columbia Hospitality hired Jason Day as manager of World Trade Center Seattle. Day was manager and banquet captain of World Trade Center Seattle's Holland America Line Dining Room for four years and has worked with Columbia Hospitality for eight years.
Normandy Mortgage in Burien hired Joe Krumbach as vice president in charge of sales and recruiting. Krumbach has been in the mortgage industry since 1990.
