LMN Architects promoted three people to principals and two to associates. Jennifer Hing, Howard Howlett and Kristy Kimura were promoted to principals. Hing is project designer for the Washington State University Applied Technology Center in Vancouver and the Washington Technology Center. Howlett has been with the company since 1996. He is the project manager for 1823 Terry Residential Tower, a 37-story, mixed-use building with 330 apartments. Kimura is director of business development. She oversees marketing and new business strategy to successfully build and maintain LMN’s presence. Roger Wallace and Pamela Artison were also promoted to associates. Wallace has 30 years of architectural experience, 13 spent running his own firm. He is the project manager for the 1101 Dexter Office Building in South Lake Union. Artison works in human resources to support staff with employee benefits, payroll, and hiring coordination. She is the company’s King County United Way Coordinator and was instrumental in earning LMN the United Way’s Spirit of Caring Award, presented earlier this year to recognize the firm’s consistent level of giving over the past five years.

Lehner
Wood Harbinger promoted four employees to associates: Mike Lehner, fire protection engineer; Don Renbarger, senior electrical designer; Mohammed Haq, mechanical engineer; and Mark Bloedel, CAD/IT manager. Lehner has more than 15 years of experience designing fire suppression systems for governmental, commercial, institutional and medical facilities. Renbarger has more than 40 years of experience in construction, primarily focusing on electrical systems design, construction administration, and project management of educational, commercial, medical and institutional facilities. Haq has seven years of experience providing mechanical design services for new and renovated facilities. Bloedel has more than 21 years of experience with both board and AutoCAD drafting. He is coordinating the company’s move toward Building Information Modeling and using AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP.

Lane Coburn & Associates

Waldrop
Lane Coburn & Associates hired Bill Waldrop as an associate and senior electrical designer in its Woodinville office. Waldrop has 30 years of experience working for electrical engineering consulting firms in the Seattle metropolitan area. His past projects include several Whole Foods locations in California, the Amgen Bio-Technology Facility and the Museum of Flight expansion.

Garvey Schubert Barer

Law firm Garvey Schubert Barer hired Erle Cohen as chief operating officer. Cohen has worked in the legal industry for a decade and managed two Seattle-based firms. As a result of the hire, John Hoerster, managing director, and Lucinda Fernald, executive director, will take on new roles of chairman and general counsel, respectively.

Hydrogen Advertising

Seattle-based Hydrogen Advertising hired Dan Cabacungan as senior strategic planner. Cabacungan is relocating to Seattle from Durham, N.C., where he was an account planner for McKinney & Silver.

Puget Sound Health Alliance

The Puget Sound Health Alliance hired Karen Onstad as director of health information. Onstad has 15 years of experience in quality assessment and worked with the National Committee for Quality Assurance in Washington, D.C., and has been an independent consultant. The Puget Sound Health Alliance is a nonprofit made up of those who provide, pay for and use health care.

Seattle Goodwill

The Seattle Goodwill Board of Directors has elected new officers to serve until March of 2009. Lauriann Reynolds of Pemco Insurance Companies is the new chair; John Hayduk of JTM Construction is the new vice chair; and Wayne Lau of Washington First International Bank is secretary. Richard Pahre, previously of Moss Adams before he retired, was re-elected treasurer. Catherine Gibson of Moss Adams and David Scott of Entillium have also joined the board of directors.

Propel Insurance

Tacoma-based Bratrud Middleton Insurance has changed its name to Propel Insurance. It is the same company, and staff and leadership remain the same. The agency has operated in the Northwest for 80 years. It provides insurance, surety bonds, advisory and other financial services.
