Tacoma-based Premier Media Group, a publishing company, hired Neil Buchsbaum, John Stubb and Amy Yamada as account executives, and Sara Bitterling as senior graphic designer. Buchsbaum worked for Washington CEO Magazine. Stubb has worked at NW Cable Advertising, KIRO-TV and KBRO Radio. Yamada worked at Clear Channel Broadcasting. Bitterling recently graduated from Western Washington University.
Regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt hired Farjam Majd in the firm's Intellectual Property Practice Group in the Seattle office. Majd was formerly part of the patent prosecution team at the international IP firm Darby & Darby.
Mitzi Stern was recently appointed executive director at Life Care Center of West Seattle, a nursing and rehabilitation facility. Stern has worked at Washington Care Center and Messenger House Care Center.
Law firm Williams Kastner hired Larry Leggett to its Seattle office as of counsel. Leggett will focus his practice on real estate, land and title insurance matters. He worked at LandAmerica Financial Group.
Tom Sante, vice president and senior property manager for GVA Kidder Mathews, has been named chairman of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Seattle-King County for 2009. BOMA's members come from 250 firms that own or manage commercial real estate, or provide goods and services to the industry.
The Opus Group has named Chris Ascani business development manager in Seattle. Ascani will identify third-party tenant improvement work, build-to-suit opportunities and design-build work in Washington state. He was a construction project manager in the Seattle office of Opus Northwest. He has 20 years of experience in the construction industry.
Tom Hoban has been named to the national Sperry Van Ness Asset Recovery Team. The team specializes in the management and disposition of troubled assets, providing services to government agencies, lenders and financial institutions. Hoban is cofounder of Coast/Sperry Van Ness, part of the Coast Group of Companies, which specializes in sales and leasing of retail, office, multifamily and industrial property in Washington. He worked as a banker during the savings and loan crisis in the late 1980s.
The NAIOP broker forecast breakfast “Part 2: Apartments and Retail” will be held on Feb. 18 at The Westin in Seattle. The retail market will be covered by Paul Sleeth of Colliers and Susie Detmer of Cushman & Wakefield.
