Wells Fargo

Marco Abbruzzese has been named senior regional manager for Wells Fargo Washington's Wealth Management Group. Abbruzzese has 20 years of experience and will be responsible for Wells Fargo's WMG operations in Washington, leading 218 team members.

University of Idaho

The University Research Office at the University of Idaho recently signed a memorandum of understanding with a new business venture firm located in Bellevue called The University Funds. The company will help move inventions and innovations into the marketplace by creating start-up companies with University of Idaho patents.

Lynnwood Convention Center

SMG hired Will Christison as director of operations and event services of the Lynnwood Convention Center. Christison has seven years of experience and has worked with the Seattle Mariners, Microsoft and Pearl Jam.

BergerABAM

Fisher
Sally Fisher has joined BergerABAM as project manager/environmental scientist. Her experience includes planning and permitting for in-water and transportation projects; site assessment, investigation and remediation; design and document preparation for dredging and remediation projects; and construction support. Fisher will continue to expand the environmental services of the firm in the Puget Sound region and southwest Washington. At the Port of Tacoma, she worked on the Blair Waterway and the Lincoln Avenue grade separation projects.

Maul Foster Alongi

Jim Darling, former executive director of the Port of Bellingham, has been named vice president and principal with Maul Foster Alongi, a Northwest environmental and land-use planning firm. He will lead the regional business plan and serve as principal-in-charge for projects in the Puget Sound region. The firm is based in Vancouver and has offices in Portland and Seattle. At Bellingham, he led planning for redevelopment of the Georgia Pacific property, managed a response to develop a NOAA Pacific Fleet Operation Center and oversaw development of a waterfront innovation zone with Western Washington University. He serves on the governor's Task Force on Sustainability.

Four members of the Seattle office of NAC have been promoted. Darrell Turner is now an associate principal. He is working on the Highline Medical Center's Birch Wing addition in Burien; the master plan for Ketchikan General Hospital in Alaska; and projects for Franciscan Health System in Tacoma. Stan Hargus has been promoted to senior associate. He is the project manager for Snohomish High School. Also promoted to senior associate is Steve Wescott, who is working on designs for Echo Glen Children's Center, a juvenile rehabilitation facility in Snoqualmie, and Highline Medical Center's Birch Wing addition. Vaughn Bray is now an associate. His portfolio includes the Birch Wing addition and the new Group Health Bellevue Medical Center.

Triad Associates

Triad Associates' Board of Directors elected Steve Buxton vice president. He will focus on high-level management and operation efficiencies while continuing to act as information technology manager. Kirkland-based Triad is a civil engineering, surveying, planning and landscape architecture company.

Yost Grube Hall Architecture

Portland architecture firm Yost Grube Hall Architecture has added two architects, Brent Young and John Heinen, to its ownership group. Young is working on the Student Recreation and Aquatics Center addition at Boise State University. Recent projects include the Academic and Student Recreation Center for Portland State University and the U.S. embassy in Quito, Ecuador. Heinen's recent projects include the Science and Technology Center at Olympic College; the Virology and Immunology Laboratory at the University of California, Davis; and the Oregon National Primate Research Center at OHSU. Heinen is working on Building B at Pacific University's Health Professions Campus, and lab renovations for OHSU.
