SMG, a venue management and development company, made two new additions to its management team at the Lynnwood Convention Center. They are Erin Mitchell as sales manager and Erica Heininger as administrative/marketing assistant. Mitchell has 26 years of experience in the food and beverage industry and was catering director for Palisade. Heininger was recently the clinical administrative assistant for PeaceHealth Medical Group in Bellingham.
Tia Catli has been selected to manage KeyBank's new branch in Upper Queen Anne, which is nearing completion. Catli began her banking career in 1992 as a teller and became manager of Key's Lower Queen Anne branch in 2003.
Charles Smith of Walla Walla's K Vintners has been named winemaker of the year by Food & Wine Magazine's prestigious American Wine Awards. Located at the base of the Blue Mountains, K Vintners opened its doors in December 2001. Owner and winemaker Smith comes from a family of wine makers but arrived in the Walla Walla Valley after 11 years in Scandinavia where he owned and operated night clubs and managed rock bands. Smith has developed other brands and a range of wines.

The Master Builders Career Connection, a division of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties, launched a blog site called ConstructionMatch.org. The site gives residential builders, remodelers and contractors a venue to discuss what is going on in the local residential construction industry. It also provides job postings.
Four ProBuild facilities in Washington have reached the elite level of the Structural Building Components Association's Structural Component Operations Reaching for Excellence (SCORE) certification. The Washington operations are in Auburn, Spokane, Walla Walla and West Richland. ProBuild, a national building materials supplier, also received elite SCORE certification for its Oregon facilities in Clackamas and Klamath Falls. SCORE is a certification program for component manufacturing.
Dan Chiem will manage KeyBank's new branch in Belltown. Chiem began his banking career in 2000 at Bank of America and has worked at KeyBank since 2004 in multiple positions. He recently managed the Ballard branch on Market Street. Chiem is fluent in Chinese, Vietnamese and English.
The Washington State Tourism Commission has elected Katherine Kertzman, program director for Seattle's Southside Visitor Services, to serve as co-chair. The SSVS is the official tourism department for Tukwila, SeaTac, Kent and Des Moines. Kertzman takes over the role from Kim Bennett, CEO of the Southwest Washington Convention and Visitor Bureau.
ZymoGenetics promoted Dennis Miller to senior vice president of research and preclinical development. He will also be on the executive management committee. Miller has been with ZymoGenetics since 2005 working in the research and development organization.
