BNY Mellon Wealth Management hired Michele Bucklin as a sales officer in Seattle. Bucklin is the first of four employees the Seattle office plans to hire in the coming months. She was a private wealth advisor and portfolio manager at Wachovia Securities and led a team that managed $250 million in client assets. BNY Mellon is a global financial services company.
The Oregon Wave Energy Trust, a nonprofit involved in developing wave energy projects, elected David Gibson president and Julie Keil vice president of the board of directors. It also named Jason Busch executive director. Gibson works for Oregon Iron Works as renewable energy program manager. Keil is the director of hydroelectric licensing with Portland General Electric. Busch was previously principal of Sustainable Legal Solutions.
Global law firm K&L Gates has established an office in Warsaw. This is the firm's 36th location worldwide and the third international launch this year, following openings in Tokyo and Moscow.
The World Affairs Council of Seattle hired Steve Breaux as communications manager. Breaux previously managed media and communications for several members of the Washington State Senate including the chairs of the Senate Transportation Committee, the Senate Economic Development Committee, and the Senate Committee on Higher Education & Workforce Development.

The Portland Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association has put together its 2010 board. The officers include: Kristen Glanville of Enterprise Fleet Management, president; Ann Martin of Sage Software, vice-president; Mike Sause of AKT, treasurer; Patsy Dunn of Talbot, Korvola & Warwick, secretary/recorder; and Shelley Stoltz of Axis Crane, past president. The directors include: April Casseday of JHC Commercial, Alisa Castellano of R&H Construction, Gary McCann of Woodruff-Sawyer of Oregon, Steve Nowak of HVAC Inc., and Maurna Jamieson of Total Mechanical
Members of the Seattle Arts Commission elected Fidelma McGinn to a two-year term on the citizen-advisory commission. McGinn is a filmmaker and executive director of Artist Trust, a statewide nonprofit service organization for individual artists. She is not related to Mayor Mike McGinn.
Portland marketing firm Leopold Ketel & Partners hired Thomas Hollerbach as president and partner effective April 5. Hollerbach has helped build national brands including Apple, Visa, Starbucks and Aquafina. He was recently president and partner at Trahan, Burden & Charles Advertising and Public Relations in Baltimore. LKP's founder and current president, Jerry Ketel, is leaving to pursue a career as a consultant in the areas of creativity and innovation.
Rusty George Creative in Tacoma hired Aaron Locke as art director and Consuelo Sandoval as business development manager. Locke has been an adjunct artist at Tacoma School of the Arts developing curriculum since 2004 and has worked with clients including Gymboree, New Balance, and Eddie Bauer. Sandoval worked as a community relations manager for the American Cancer Society.
