Law firm Stoel Rives announced Rita Alli, director of the firm's Business and Professional Development Department, has been appointed president of the Association of Legal Administrators. With more than 10,000 members in 30 countries, ALA represents legal administrators who are leaders and industry experts on legal management issues. Alli has introduced a number of innovative programs at Stoel Rives including a Boot Camp for new lawyers and a Universal Curriculum for associates. She joined the firm in 2006.
The Seattle Foundation named Mary Grace Roske director of communications. Roske will oversee communications and public relations. She spent four years as vice president/director of marketing and communications for Seattle Bank and its parent company, Seattle Financial Group.
Three new restaurants are opening in the city of SeaTac: India Pabla Punjabi Palace at 15245 International Blvd., Las Palmas at 19840 International Blvd. and Taqueria El Rinconsito at 15247 Pacific Highway S.
Skanska added two and promoted four at its Seattle office.
The new hires are Tim Charoni as senior superintendent and Dave Smith as project executive. Charoni, a LEED AP with more than 26 years of industry experience, previously worked at Turner Construction. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington. Smith joined Skanska's civil business unit, which is led by Dan Howell who was appointed Skanska USA civil director of operations.
Matt Sanborn was promoted to project executive, Steve Houston and Tom Leptich were promoted to senior project managers, and Brad Rock was promoted to project manager. Sanborn has 14 years of experience and joined Skanska in 2003. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil and environmental engineering from Washington State University. Houston has 10 years of experience and joined the firm in 2004. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Central Washington University. Leptich, a LEED AP, has been with Skanska for 11 years. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington. Rock, a LEED AP, joined Skanska in 2005. He holds a bachelor's degree in forest resources from the University of Washington.
Seattle's Veca Electric hired Sam Rathert as division manager for the Structure Cabling Group and Bob Hartman to manage the HVAC controls department. Rathert has 15 years of commercial low-voltage experience and is a Registered Communication Distribution Designer. Hartman has more than 30 years of experience installing major brands of controls systems.
Cabinet & Granite Co. opened a store in Bellinghams' Meridian Plaza. The company is leasing just over 2,100 square feet from Hackman Capital, a Los Angeles-based real-estate investment firm. The property is located across from Bellis Fair Mall and adjacent to Interstate 5. Cabinet & Granite Co. specializes in new construction and remodeling for commercial and residential projects. It has been in business for more than 15 years.
