Mike Moncrieff of New Edge Design has become an authorized trainer for Cheng Concrete. Moncrieff is teaching Cheng's two-day decorative fiber-reinforced concrete class in the Northwest region. Bellingham-based New Edge Design designs and builds concrete countertops, hearths, vertical walls, conference tables, integral sinks and furniture.

All of Skanska USA Building's operations have been certified to meet the environmental and safety standards of the International Organization for Standardization and the Occupation Health and Safety Assessment Series. The certification was achieved in June. Whitestone, N.Y.-based Skanska has a Seattle office.


LeMaster Daniels Certified Public Accountants and Advisors of Spokane intends to join with Minneapolis-based LarsonAllen CPAs, Consultants and Advisors effective Nov. 1. Scott Dietzen, CEO of LeMaster Daniels, said the company had been looking for a firm to fold into the LeMaster Daniels brand as part of a growth strategy.

Guy Powers of Badger Mountain Vineyard and Powers Winery and the late David Lake, longtime winemaker for Columbia Winery, were selected as 2010 Legends of Washington Wine and will be inducted into the Legends of Washington Wine Hall of Fame. The Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center will honor them at the 2010 Legends of Washington Wine gala on Aug. 28. Legends are selected for contributions to the community and the wine industry.
The Oregon Zoo hired Mark Williams as business operations manager. Williams was director of event services at the Oregon Convention Center and has 20 years of experience in event coordination and management.
Michael Kerns, who was associate vice president of facilities services at Seattle University, has taken a new job working for the U.S. Department of State to manage planning at embassies around the world. Sari Graven, director of program and resource development, will be interim head of facilities as SU looks for a permanent successor.
