Paccar elected Ron Armstrong as president, effective Jan. 1, 2011. Armstrong has 17 years of experience with Paccar and was most recently executive vice president. He replaces Jim Cardillo, who will retire in December. Cardillo has been with Paccar for more than 20 yers.
The Washington State Bar Association said Judge Donald Horowitz won the 2010 Award of Merit. First given in 1957, the award is the WSBA's highest honor for longterm service to the bar or the public.
The law firm of Williams Kastner hired Anne Loucks as an associate in the Seattle office. Loucks will focus her practice on business litigation and business transactions as well as product liability and mass torts.
Tulalip Resort Casino received the 2010 Successful Meetings Pinnacle Award. The award recognizes meeting venues for organization and planning services. It is determined by readers of Successful Meetings magazine.

Mayor Mike McGinn and the Seattle City Council are seeking candidates for the Citizens' Telecommunications and Technology Advisory Board for terms beginning in January of 2011. It needs five new members who reflect a range of diversity, professional and community experience. Bellevue-based DreamBox Learning, an e-learning company, hired Jessie Woolley-Wilson as chief executive officer. Woolley-Wilson has nearly 20 years of leadership experience in education technology and e-learning and was recently president of K-12 at Blackboard.
Laurie Simon, CEO and founder of Ombrella, has been named an AT&T Innovator of the Year for the Seattle area. The award honors women in business that have leveraged technology for innovation and success. Simon was recognized for her use of advanced technology, advocacy for women in technology, and providing opportunities and employment to other professionals.

Bellevue-based NAI Puget Sound Properties is opening a Tacoma office and adding a multi-family investment sales division. The company hired brokers Bruce Goldstein, Kim Marvik, Doug Smith and Hugh Winskill to work in the downtown branch. Billy Moultrie and Christian Mattson, who work the industrial sector, will join the Tacoma office. Moultrie will be the managing broker.
DCT Industrial Trust has chosen Grubb & Ellis to manage seven Seattle-area industrial properties totaling 1.1 million square feet. Heather Nix and Lee Wallis will lead the management team. This spring, DCT chose Grubb & Ellis to handle leasing of the properties. The portfolio is 95 percent leased, and consists of four properties in Kent, two in Algona and one in Renton.
