Central Washington University's construction management program received a $25,000 endowment from the Mechanical Contractors Association of Western Washington. An additional $25,000 will be donated in 2011 by the association. The money will support curriculum development, faculty research and equipment, with a focus on projects related to mechanical construction. The funds may also be used for scholarships for construction management majors. David Carns is CWU's construction management program coordinator.
The Washington Glass Association elected its new officers and board of directors for 2011. The appointments are effective March 1. New officers include: Bernie Thueringer of Pacific Glass, president; Amy Anderson of Atlas Supply, vice president; Peter Barnhart of Pacific Glass & Door, secretary; Susan Stevens of SGS Glass, treasurer; and Mike Garland of Eubanks, past president. Directors include: Bill Coady of Guardian Industries, Bonnie Fay of Northwestern Industries, Ed Howell of Hartung Glass, Richard Sorrells of Brower Glass Tint and Graphics, and Gary Towndrow of RGA Architectural Sales. WGA's executive director is Maryanne Howell.
Monroe-based Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. donated cabinetry for two new homes in Oregon built for disabled veterans under a national program run by Homes For Our Troops. The nonprofit HFOT builds new homes for returning veterans with serious disabilities and injuries. Canyon Creek's donation was installed in homes in Sandy and Parkdale.






The Washington State Bar Association has given its Local Hero Award to Mount Vernon Attorney C. Thomas Moser. The award is presented by the WSBA Board of Governors to people who have made noteworthy contributions in their communities. Since 1987, Moser has been in private practice though he was previously prosecuting attorney for San Juan and Skagit counties.

Classical KING FM named Mercedes Sanchez as membership director. The appointment reflects KING FM's transition from a commercial radio station to public-supported model in July of 2011. Sanchez has worked with local nonprofits like the Lifelong AIDS Alliance, Jewish Family Service and Lenny Wilkens Foundation.
Seattle-based sister brands, InnerSea Discoveries and American Safari Cruises, said LouAnn Stanley is director of international business development, Page Saurs is marketing manager and Sarah Scoltock is director of communications and business development. Stanley has 35 years of experience in sales and was recently director of international accounts at Cruise West. Saurs has 24 years experience in the travel and tourism industry and was a senior marketing manager at Cruise West. Scoltock was with Holland America Line as a public relations manager.
Bellevue's Rick and Marla Bailey have opened the first Fish Window Cleaning franchise in the Seattle area at 1840 130th Ave. N.E., Suite 16, in Bellevue. Fish will provide commercial and residential window cleaning on the Eastside. St. Louis-based Fish Window Cleaning has 239 locations in the U.S.
Brooke O'Malley has been named manager of KeyBank's new branch in Madison Park. Space in a commercial building at 4105 E. Madison St. is being remodeled to accommodate the branch, which is expected to open in February of 2011. O'Malley has worked at KeyBank since 2004 and recently managed the KeyBank branch on Capitol Hill.
