NK Architects

NK Architects promoted Boyd Pickrell to senior associate. He has 15-plus years of architecture and real estate development experience, and will take an expanded role in operations. Pickrell also will be the in-house expert on mitigating energy consumption through conservation and passive, net-zero systems. NK is a Seattle-based architecture and development firm.

Gensler

Gensler promoted Ryan Haines to senior associate in its Seattle office. Haines previously was an associate. Gensler is a design, planning and consulting firm.

WSBA Leadership Institute

The Washington State Bar Association Leadership Institute announced its 2011 class of fellows. Affiliated Associations of America, a national association headquartered in Kirkland, hired Robin Roberts as a benefits producer. Roberts has 18 years of industry experience and recently did business development at Mercer, a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Cos.

Nielsen
General contractor Lease Crutcher Lewis hired Joe Nielsen as project manager and Karin Yarbrough as network/systems administrator in its Seattle office. Nielsen has been in construction since 2003 and is working in the firm's Special Projects Division. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Arizona State University. Yarbrough is working in the Information Technology Department. She is a five-year IT professional, and holds a bachelor's degree in information technology from the University of Phoenix.

Kirtley-Cole Associates

Bordner
Tom Bordner joined general contractor Kirtley-Cole Associates as director of business development. Prior to joining Kirtley-Cole, Bordner directed business development at Unimark Construction and Sellen Construction. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Washington State University.

Associated Builders and Contractors

Bellaman
The Associated Builders and Contractors appointed Michael D. Bellaman president and CEO of its national operations. Bellaman had a 23-year career with Lend Lease Corp. that included a two-year stint as CEO of Americas for Bovis Lend Lease. He was a member of ABC's Virginia Chapter, where he served as chairman. He holds a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering from Penn State University. On Feb. 1, he will replace Kirk Pickerel, who is retiring after nearly 28 years at the association, including 10 years as its leader.

Gallagher Benefit Services

Gallagher Benefit Services of Washington added David Rowe to its retirement services consulting practice. Rowe has 20 years of retirement consulting experience and will be regional consultant, retirement services. He is president of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries Benefits Council of the Great Northwest and previously worked as vice president, managing director with Prudential Retirement in Seattle.

Ashbaugh Beal

Seattle law firm Ashbaugh Beal has named Zak McIsaac and Jesse Miller partners. McIsaac focuses on insurance recovery and Miller focuses on commercial litigation.
