Canyon Creek Cabinet Co.

Kloos
Monroe-based Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. appointed Janet M. Kloos as human resources director. Kloos previously was HR director for an aerospace company. She holds a master's degree in human resources/organizational development.

Imco General Construction

Ferndale's Imco General Construction won the 2010 John D. Spellman Safety Award. The award is given to Evergreen Safety Council members who have significantly improved their safety programs. Imco's EMR record has been trending downward since 2007 and is currently at 0.437. Its team is led by safety managers Lisa Young and Tom Pike and vice president of operations Tyler Kimberley.

PCL Construction

Fortune magazine ranked PCL Construction No. 38 on its 14th annual “100 Best Companies to Work For” list. PCL has been on the list for six straight years. The contractor was recognized for its employee-owned structure, wellness initiatives, philanthropic efforts and training programs.

Seattle Theatre Group

Seattle Theatre Group, the nonprofit performing arts group that operates the Paramount, Moore and Neptune theaters, hired Vivian Phillips as interim director of marketing and communications. Phillips will lead the marketing department through The Neptune Theatre launch and remaining 2011 season, including Spectrum Dance Theater and “Billy Elliot The Musical.” She was executive manager at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center and director of communications for Mayor Paul Schell.

Department of Neighborhoods

Bernadette Matsuno, former deputy director of the Department of Neighborhoods and a community activist and volunteer, will return as interim director of the Department of Neighborhoods. Mayor Mike McGinn named Matsuno to the position while he searches for a successor for Neighborhoods Director Stella Chao, who is not seeking reappointment. This is the second stint as interim director for Matsuno, who is now retired from city government. She held the same position in 2006 under Mayor Greg Nickels before Chao was hired.

Pacific Rim Winery

Pacific Rim Winery has been purchased by the Mariani Family of Long Island, N.Y. Cousins James Mariani and Cristina Mariani-May are co-CEOs of wine importer Banfi Vintners and Tuscany's vineyard estate, Castello Banfi of Montalcino. Randall Grahm founded Pacific Rim in 1992. The Mariani Family said it plans to keep the wine-making philosophy and executive team in place and independent of other holdings.

AdReady

AdReady, a Seattle-based technology company that makes software for digital display advertising, hired Matt Carr as senior vice president of product and business development, and Randy Wootton as senior vice president of sales, service and marketing. Carr has 10 years of experience in online advertising and was general manager of display advertising at Microsoft. Wootton has 11 years of experience and was recently vice president of global search and online marketplace at Microsoft.

Bullivant Houser Bailey

Bullivant Houser Bailey, a West Coast business and litigation law firm, announced Charles Lyman, Christopher Bakes, Marianne Ghim, Daveed Schwartz, Kyle Sciuchetti and Laura Caldera Taylor have been elected shareholders. Lyman is an attorney in the Business, Finance and Securities Litigation Group in the Seattle office. Bakes practices in the Sacramento office. Ghim, Sciuchetti and Caldera Taylor are in the Portland office. Schwartz works in the Sacramento and San Francisco offices.

SBA Women in Business

Laurie Simon, CEO and founder of Ombrella in Kirkland, has been nominated the Women in Business Champion of the Year in the Washington State Small Business Award competition. Ombrella provides project management services to Fortune 500 and government clients.
