Mehrer Drywall

Towers

Mehrer Drywall added Ron Towers to head its Paint and Specialty Coatings Department. Towers was a painting division manager at a large Seattle commercial contractor for 18 years and has more than 30 years of industry experience. He also was president of the Seattle King County Chapter of the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America for 2007, and received the contractor of the year award in 2007.

Associated Builders and Contractors

Two Western Washington contractors won national construction awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors. Dykstra Construction Services of Lynden won the ABC National Pyramid Award for its Shearwater Road house project in Blaine, and Centennial Contractors Enterprises of Fife won an ABC National Safety Excellence Award in the general contractor category. Dykstra's project was judged on its complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges, schedule, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost. Centennial was selected among ABC member firms that achieved platinum status in the association's Safety Training and Evaluation Process program.

Associated General Contractors of America

Five Northwest contractors won national safety awards from the Associated General Contractors of America. They were among 39 picked as the nation's safest construction companies. First place winners included: West Construction Co. of Anchorage, Alaska; URS Energy and Construction of Boise, Idaho; and Reese Electric of North Bend, Ore. Slayden Construction Group of Stayton, Ore., won a second place award and Dawson Construction of Bellingham won a third place award. The winners were selected for their safety records, as well as their commitment to safety training and education.

KeyBank

KeyBank veteran Shannon Bell is district retail leader for the bank's Seattle Cascades District. She will oversee management of 30 branches in Bellevue, Bellingham and Everett. Bell began her career at Key 17 years ago as a teller and was recently vice president and area retail leader for branches in Bellevue and on the Eastside.

Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker

Seattle law firm Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker hired Allison Pehl as an associate attorney. Pehl is a member of the Construction Litigation Practice Group and the Federal Practice Group. She previously worked as a summer clerk in the Seattle office.

Hallmark Manor

Hallmark Manor, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Federal Way, hired Bryan Tapia as executive director. Tapia was vice president of Life Care's Northwest Division, overseeing nursing and rehab facilities in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. He has 20 years of experience in long-term care.

McKinley Irvin

McKinley Irvin, a law firm focused on divorce and family law, added Lindsay Smith as an associate in its Tacoma office. Smith's experience includes family law, child development and training in domestic violence.

K&L Gates

The Seattle office of global law firm K&L Gates hired Eric Laschever as a partner in the firm's environmental, land and natural resources practice. He worked at Stoel Rives. Laschever advises private and public clients in land use and environmental permits and approvals for large infrastructure and other complex projects.

Door to Door Storage

Door to Door Storage, a Kent-based national provider of portable self-storage and moving services, named Paul Reed president and chief executive officer. Reed has been chief financial officer since 2007 and has recently been interim chief executive officer.

Northwest Hospital

Northwest Hospital & Medical Center added two doctors to medical practices at the hospital. Robert Clawson is joining The Bone & Joint Center of Seattle and Joshua Cooper is joining Seattle Pacific Surgeons. Clawson has been in practice as an orthopedic surgeon at Northwest Hospital & Medical Center since 1974. Cooper specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

KeyBank

KeyBank's newest branch opened in the Getty Images Building in Fremont at 601 N. 34th St., next to the Fremont Bridge. The 3,200-square-foot space is KeyBank's 161st retail operation in Washington. The branch manager is Samira Salkic, who has been with Key for five years.
