Magellan Architects

Sutton

Magellan Architects hired Kevin Sutton as a project manager. He has a background in large-scale high-rise and mixed-use projects, including Bellevue Towers in Bellevue, and has worked in Saudi Arabia and China. He has worked on entitlements, construction documentation and construction administration. Redmond-based Magellan Architects does commercial and residential.

Parametrix

Graham

Parametrix hired Greg Graham as a senior environmental planner in its Portland office. He was with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for more than 30 years, and managed planning, environmental and fish programs for the Walla Walla District. In his new job, he will develop relationships with regulatory agencies. His background in flood control, environmental restoration, fish migration and hydropower will complement the firm's growing tribal and energy markets. Parametrix provides engineering, planning and environmental services.

Johnson Braund Design Group added the following people to its architectural design staff: Mark Dorsey, Tyra Sorensen, Brock Williams, Leigh Wilkins and Mary Wyllie. The firm provides architectural design, landscape architecture, interior design and planning.

Hart Crowser

Poulsen

Chris Poulsen joined Hart Crowser as an associate environmental engineer and Rolf Hyllseth, Carlos Valdez and Dev Mitra were hired as geotechnical engineers, all in the Seattle office. Poulsen has 17 years of experience in geothermal design, stormwater management and environmental services. He will support the on-call environmental contract with the Washington State Department of Ecology. Hyllseth has 22 years of experience, including deep excavation shoring for high-rise buildings. He will work on the Chihuly Glass Museum at Seattle Center and a mine remediation project. Valdez and Mitra will receive master of science degrees from the University of Washington in June. They are supporting the SR 99 bored tunnel project in Seattle. Hart Crowser is an environmental and engineering consulting firm headquartered in Seattle.

CollinsWoerman

Whatley

CollinsWoerman hired Dalice Whatley as practice leader for interior design. Whatley has almost two decades of experience in planning, design, management and business development with firms in Washington, California, Arizona and Texas. She has been responsible for more than 50 corporate, commercial, health care and mixed-use projects. Her clients have included GSA, LSI Logic, AT&T, CBRE, HP and Agilent Technologies. Seattle-based CollinsWoerman provides architecture, design and planning.

Banner Bank

Banner Bank hired Andrew Nguyen as a real estate loan officer in the Bellevue branch. Nguyen has eight years of home loan experience in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California, and spent the last four years as a home loan consultant for Washington State Employees Credit Union.

Pierce County

Pierce County Executive Pat McCarthy selected Gary Robinson as director of the Pierce County Budget and Finance Department. Robinson has served in a variety of executive roles with the state since 1977, most recently as chief financial officer for the Department of Social and Health Services. He succeeds Patrick Kenney, who retired this month after 29 years as Budget and Finance director. Robinson must be confirmed by the Pierce County Council.

Mars Hill Graduate School

The board of trustees of Mars Hill Graduate School voted to re-name it The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. The change is a part of a broader effort by the school to position itself as a progressive innovator in Christian graduate education. The name change will take place in mid-August.
