THA Architecture promoted Mike Meade, Stefee Knudsen, Nick Hemmer and Jake Freauff to associates. Meade has 10 years of design experience, with a focus on green projects such as Mercy Corps' global headquarters. Knudsen has 20 years of experience in project management and sustainable design, particularly on public projects. She is project manager for the Polk County Readiness Center. Hemmer, a five-year THA employee, most recently worked on the Hallie Ford Center at OSU. Freauff joined the firm in 2002. He has design and visualization skills and understands technical building issues. He is working on the the Alaska Library Archives Museum in Juneau.

Eggers

Callison hired Lisa Strauch Eggers as general counsel and corporate secretary reporting to Chairman and CEO John Jastrem. Eggers has 28 years of executive and legal experience. She began her career on Wall Street before joining Amoco Corp. where she worked in the U.S. and Europe overseeing international joint ventures, licensing, and mergers and acquisitions. She was Starbucks' first international lawyer, and worked on joint ventures and licensing deals in Asia and the Middle East. Eggers joined Perkins Coie before founding a practice on Mercer Island. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University and received a law degree from Georgetown University. Seattle-based Callison has offices in Beijing, Dallas, Dubai, London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, New York, Scottsdale and Shanghai. It has added more than 100 employees since January.

Augustine

BergerABAM hired Michael Augustine and Patrick Harrigan in Federal Way. Augustine has five years of structural design experience, including earth-retaining systems and mixed-use development. He is working on the Oakland International Airport connector project. Harrigan has 17 years of experience, including special structures, bridge analysis, and seismic upgrades, and is also working on the Oakland project. BergerABAM provides engineering, land use planning, natural resources, construction management and dive services, with offices in the Northwest, California, Nevada and Texas.

Pinnacle Consulting Group

Mathews

Kruchek

Pinnacle Consulting Group hired Tony Kruchek as a project engineer and Chris Mathews as a CAD designer. Kruchek has 15 years of experience as a CAD team leader and project engineer. He is working on a project for the Washington State Department of Corrections. Mathews is a graduate of ITT Technical College. He is working on a project at Naval Base Kitsap. Snohomish-based Pinnacle provides industrial engineering, facilities planning and material handling systems for warehouse, manufacturing and repair operations.

CDM

Yaghmaie

CDM hired Sam Yaghmaie as a client service manager and principal project manager in the Seattle office. He has 33 years of experience in project management, LEED certification, construction management, geotechnical and civil/structural design of water and wastewater, transportation, transit and port facilities. CDM is an engineering, construction and operations firm.

Hewitt

Hewitt hired Susan Busch as an associate, Alexa Helsell as a staff landscape architect, and Case Blum, Daniel Herhold and Julia Nagele as staff architects. Busch's work includes mixed-use and housing projects with a focus on affordable housing and transit-oriented development. She has 15-plus years of experience and will be a senior project manager. Helsell received her master's of landscape architecture from City College of New York and will work on the West Seattle Triangle master plan. Blum will do graphic modeling for Green Lake Village. Herhold has a technical background and will assist in construction administration on Alto Apartments. Nagele has 13 years of experience in residential, commercial, and civic/institutional projects, and will work on urban mixed-use projects. Hewitt is a Seattle-based architecture, landscape architecture and urban design firm.

Power Engineers

Power Engineers acquired Minneapolis-based Food Systems Design, a consulting and engineering firm for the food processing and packaging industry. Powers said in a press release the acquisition strengthens its food and beverage division. Hailey, Idaho-based Power is a global engineering firm specializing in energy, food and beverage facilities, communications, environmental and federal markets.

Columbia Bank

Columbia Bank promoted Monica Brady to assistant vice president and international banking officer, based in the Tacoma office. She has worked in the International Department for 12 years.

Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria

Joe Fugere, founder of Seattle-based Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria, has been appointed vice president of media, marketing and events for the Associazione Verace Pizza Napolenata, headquartered in Naples, Italy, and the VPN Americas in Los Angeles. Fugere will work on strategic planning and events. VPN is an international nonprofit that gives a special designation to pizzerias that meet requirements for traditional Neapolitan pizza making.

Eastside Business Awards

The Bellevue Chamber of Commerce named the winners of the 22nd Annual Eastside Business Awards. Concur of Bellevue won Business of the Year, Lakeside Collision of Bellevue won for small business, Apptio of Bellevue won for emerging business, Quadrant Homes won for sustainable business, the Bellevue Arts Museum won for nonprofit/community impact and Brayden Olson, CEO of Novel, won young professional of the year.
