DCI Engineers has hired four people in Spokane. Josh Comfort is a structural project manager, Christopher Green and Chris Ferrera are structural project engineers, and Adeline Grow is a marketing and administration assistant. Comfort previously worked for the firm in the Spokane area. He is working on the Simon Medical Office Building in Redondo Beach, Calif. Green has worked for Oregon DOT and the Indian Health Service. His projects now include Sunset View Elementary. Ferrera has worked as a project inspector for sewer, water, storm water and road construction. At DCI, he is engineering conveyor belts for the Conga Feeders project in Peru. Grow was an instructor at WWU. Grow will manage administration procedures and assist the marketing team. DCI is a civil and structural consulting engineering firm headquartered in Seattle.

Meng Analysis

Meng Analysis hired Doug Smith as director of engineering. He is a senior mechanical engineer with experience in sustainable design, construction and operation. Meng said he will help the firm serve as an owner's advocate in the early stages when performance criteria and strategies are established. Meng specializes in quality and cost performance services.

Golder Associates

Pellichero

Jensen

Golder Associates hired Bryan Jensen as a desktop support analyst for the western United States and Emanuele Pellichero as a staff hydrogeologist. Jensen was a local area network administrator at a regional engineering firm. Pellichero will provide hydrogeological support on water resources, mining, and environmental projects with a focus on groundwater flow modeling. Golder is a global ground engineering and environmental consulting firm.

Roth Hill

Dang

Bellevue-based Roth Hill hired Quyen Dang as a senior designer supporting public works projects, including water, wastewater and stormwater. Dang worked at LPA Inc. in Irvine, Calif., designing and producing engineering plans for utilities, drainage, and pollution prevention, and performing hydrology and hydraulic studies. Roth Hill's services include civil engineering, land surveying, permitting, planning, public relations and community involvement, and construction administration.

Magnan Consulting Services

Casad

Don Casad joined Magnan Consulting Services as business development director. He has more than 35 years as a civil engineer, having worked on development and construction, assessment and forensic inspection. Puyallup-based Magnan provides inspection, testing, document control and quality assurance for construction projects.

TCA Architecture Planning

TCA Architecture Planning promoted Forest Hooker to associate. Hooker has been with the firm since 2004 and has done architectural design and project management. His recently completed Northshore Headquarters Fire Station 51 won a bronze award from Fire Chief magazine.

Your Local Market

Your Local Market opens Friday at 410 Bellevue Way N.E., offering grocery delivery, online ordering and curbside pickup. The store was developed by Concept Development Group, led by Jason Brown, the founder of Organic to Go. Michael Johnson, formerly of Right by Nature Market and Organic to Go is chief food officer. Paul Wilcox, a former co-director of Larry's Markets in Kirkland, is store manager. Adrian Ballow is bakery manager. Gail Schollmeyer is produce and floral manager. Travis Lewis is seafood manager. Ken Weiland is wine manager.

Seattle Genetics

Bothell-based Seattle Genetics hired James Kyle Bryan as vice president, medical affairs. Bryan is a hematologist and medical oncologist, and has 18 years of experience in oncology drug development. He was previously at PPD. Charles Smith was promoted to vice president, quality. Smith joined Seattle Genetics in 2003 and has worked in the Technical Operations Group.

Washington State Bar Association

The Washington State Bar Association said Tacoma lawyer Lynn Johnson won the Local Hero Award for her work with the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association.

Schuchart Corp.

Sturgeon

Martin

Seattle-based general contractor Schuchart Corp. hired Mike Martin as a project engineer and Jason Sturgeon as a project manager. Martin has more than 18 years of experience on local commercial projects, and is working on the Chihuly Garden and Glass project at the Seattle Center. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Ulster in Belfast, Ireland. Sturgeon has more than 15 years of experience in low-rise commercial, hospitality, multifamily and high-rise residential construction projects. He, too, is working on the Chihuly project. He holds a bachelor's degree in engineering technology from Purdue University.

GLY Construction

Bellevue's GLY Construction hired Tom Gass as senior project manager in the Healthcare Division, David Craig as senior estimator and Trevor Lunde as integrated design engineer on the Virtual Design team. Gass spent much of his career working in the medical sector for several general contractors. Craig was business development manager for eight years at Builder's Exchange of Washington. Lunde is an architect formerly with Integrus Architecture.

Mortenson Construction

Mortenson Construction received a national design-build award from the Design-Build Institute of America for the $30 million renovation of Cheney Stadium in Tacoma. The award was presented last month during the National Design-Build Conference and Expo in Orlando, Fla. The project team included Belay Architecture and Populous.

AGC Oregon-Columbia Chapter

The Associated General Contractors Oregon-Columbia Chapter on Saturday will hand out SIR awards to David Kronsteiner, CEO of West Coast Contractors; Dick Alexander, partner with Stoel Rives; David Evans, chairman emeritus with David Evans Enterprises; and Larry Hannan, retired president of Hannan-Mossman Construction. The awards have been given since 1972 to individuals in the construction industry who demonstrate skill, integrity and responsibility. The association will also be honoring the Lake Oswego interceptor sewer project, which was built by Advanced American Construction and James W. Fowler Co.
