Indiana-based Coordinated Care Corporation hired Jay Fathi, M.D. as president and chief executive officer for the Tacoma office. Fathi comes to Coordinated Care from Swedish Health Services/Swedish Medical Group where he founded and served as the medical director of the Primary Care and Community Health program since 2008. Fathi has practiced as a family physician for more than 19 years. Coordinated Care Corporation serves by partnering with physicians, specialists, hospitals and other community service providers to ensure quality care for its members.

Quackenbush

Seattle-based Abbott Construction hired Arnie Quackenbush as senior project manager and Alan Anderson as superintendent to lead its team of remediation experts. Quackenbush and Anderson have more than 65 years of combined construction experience, with the last 11 in exterior remediation. Other team members joining them are investigation specialist Donal Fennessy, superintendent Lenny Mickelson and construction concierge Jeanne Quackenbush.

Canyon Creek Cabinet Co.

Monroe-based Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. donated cabinets earlier this year to the YMCA of Snohomish County's Youth Sparks Center. The center gives kids ages 7–11 a place to discover and practice their interests or “sparks.” It has computer and homework stations, musical instruments, and tables for board games and arts and crafts. Canyon Creek donated base, utility and bookcase cabinets.

Seattle-based Lane Powell appointed Douglas Greene as shareholder and co-chair of the Securities Litigation Practice Group. Greene was partner at K&L Gates, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and Perkins Coie. Lane Powell has offices in Washington, Oregon, Alaska and London.

McAdams Wright Ragen

Seattle-based McAdams Wright Ragen is opening a brokerage in downtown Spokane in the Bank of America Financial Center. McAdams Wright Ragen is a majority employee-owned investment firm with seven locations throughout Washington and Oregon.

Holland America Line

Seattle-based Holland America Line promoted Mary Beth Wressell to vice president of marketing communications. Wressell joined Holland in 2005 as manager of media advertising and most recently was director of media advertising and e-marketing. The cruise line has 15 ships.

CPD Alaska

Yellig

CPD Alaska hired Laura Yellig as vice president of highway petroleum sales. Yellig led the wholesale sales and operations in the Northwest at Shell Oil Products for 18 years. CPD Alaska is the petroleum transportation, distribution and sales unit of Crowley Maritime in Alaska.

World Trade Center Tacoma

The World Trade Center Tacoma appointed Pradnya Desh and Louise Tieman as new board members. Desh is managing partner for Desh Elliott International Law. Tieman is a consulting CEO for vcfo Washington. The World Trade Center Tacoma is a membership-based organization that works on building trade and investment.

King County

The King County Forecast Council appointed David Reich as the county's chief economist. Reich will direct the Office of Economic and Financial Analysis, the agency responsible for preparing economic and revenue forecasts. Reich is economic and financial analysis manager for the county's Office of Performance Strategy and Budget.

HFO

Risberg

HFO Investment Real Estate in Portland hired Anita Risberg as senior broker associate. She'll focus on multifamily listings in the Willamette Valley. The Salem Association of Realtors named her Realtor of the Year in 2009.

Point Ruston, Marlene's Market

A natural food store called Marlene's Market & Deli will open a 20,000-square-foot grocery at The Waterwalk at Point Ruston, joining a nine-screen Century Theatres Cinema and 175-room Silver Cloud Hotel. Marlene Beadle said her market will sell fresh meat and seafood. Mike Cohen's Point Ruston LLC will design and build the market, which will have a patio overlooking Puget Sound. Marlene's has groceries in Federal Way and Tacoma. The Waterwalk shopping center is scheduled to open in the summer of 2014. Point Ruston is under construction on the 97-acre former Asarco Smelter site in Tacoma, with housing for up to 3,000 people.

Central Business Park, PepsiCo

PepsiCo has signed a long-term lease for 90,000 square feet at Central Business Park, a 50-acre commercial and industrial campus in the Spokane Valley. PepsiCo's distribution center will consolidate Inland Northwest operations. Greater Spokane Inc. helped PepsiCo get $50,000 in incentive funds from the state's Strategic Reserve Fund. Bruno Teixeira of the business park said it is talking with other national and regional tenants. The park also has 26 acres available for build-to-suits.

New name and office for ULI

The Urban Land Institute's local chapter has been renamed ULI Northwest and moved to Suite 1515 at 1800 Ninth Ave. ULI officials say the name reflects the group's expanding presence.

ICSC program

The International Council on Shopping Centers' June 20 program on Renewing Retail in Spokane will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Casper Fry Public House & Eatery, 928 S. Perry St. in Spokane. Topics include Regal Place's plans to develop 14 acres in South Hill, the South Perry District, Vandervert Developments' remodel of Lincoln Heights Shopping Center, and Black Management Realty's remodel of Manito Center.
