Michael Fleming of the Lane Powell law firm was appointed chairman of the board of directors at Seattle-based Jones Soda Co. Fleming has been a board member since 1997. Jones Soda markets and distributes beverages across North America.

Benaroya Research Institute promoted Homer Lane Jr. to executive director and he will also service as vice president for research at Virginia Mason Medical Center. Lane joined Benaroya in 2011 as chief financial officer and chief administrative officer. Benaroya is an immune and autoimmune disease research organization.
Seattle-based Dendreon Corp. said John Johnson, president and CEO, is now also chairman of the board. Johnson succeeds Dr. Mitchell Gold, who will continue to serve as director. Dendreon is a biotech company focused on cancer.

David Buecker joined ESA as vice president and practice leader for energy and industrial facilities, taking over for Doug Cover, who retired. Buecker has nearly 30 years of experience in project planning, environmental review, regulatory compliance, design and construction for wind, solar, geothermal, fossil fuel, and hydropower projects. He has managed offices in California and the Northwest. His clients have included the Department of Defense and Calpine. ESA is a West Coast-based environmental science and planning firm.





SRG Partnership hired Taryn Mudge as a staff architect and Tera VanDyke as an accountant in its Portland office, and promoted Bjorn Clouten and Nita Posada to senior associate and Anne Lawrence to associate. Mudge is working on the Oregon State Hospital in Junction City. She earned her master of architecture from Portland State University. VanDyke has more than nine years of experience in the accounting field and is finishing an accounting degree at Linfield College. Clouten has been a project architect and project manager with the firm for eight years. His projects have included Estacada Library. Posada has been with SRG for seven years. Her projects include the University of Puget Sound Science Center. Lawrence has five years of experience in architectural marketing. She joined SRG's business development team in 2010 and is the Portland marketing manager.






BCRA hired Marc Oplinger as an architect and project manager, Eric Streeby as a landscape designer, Diego del Olmo as a project manager, Nick Blundon as a civil engineering designer, Annette Parker as a senior civil engineer, and Steve Lorentzen as a senior project manager. Oplinger is focusing on business development, and supporting the health care and education studios, including project management for Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma. He was with Callison. Streeby was most recently with Barker Landscape Architects, and will work on projects for Bear Creek School District. Del Olmo owned a construction company for more than eight years. He will do business development and residential project management. Blundon holds a master's of engineering from Oregon State University, and will work on the WSDOT Seatac rest area. Parker has experience in stormwater, utility and roadway design, and will work on education, retail and parks projects. She previously was with A-Line and Entranco. Lorentzen has 22 years of experience in commercial, residential, civic and retail projects, and was a partner with Anderson-Peyton Structural Engineering Consultants. BCRA provides architecture, interior design, building science, engineering, planning, resource management, visual communication and marketing strategy. It has offices in Seattle and Tacoma.

The Blueline Group hired Justin Rodda as a CAD drafter. Rodda has five years of CAD experience, and knows Civil 3D. His experience includes water and wastewater treatment, subdivisions, schools, playfields, parks, and commercial developments. The Blueline Group provides civil engineering services.


Weisman Design Group hired Taber Caton as a landscape architect and Dan Albert as a landscape designer. Caton has 14 years of experience in public and private projects. Albert has a background in ecological design, hospitality facilities and urban agriculture.
