Woodmark Hotel

Hyder

Kirkland-based Woodmark Hotel, Yacht Club & Spa hired Brandi Hyder as director of hotel operations. Hyder has more than 10 years of experience in hospitality and was director of the rooms division at The Heathman Hotel in Kirkland. The Woodmark is on Lake Washington.

KeyBank

Hanavi

KeyBank hired Sarah Hanavi to manage the new branch in Bothell. Hanavi joined Keybank in 2011 and has worked at the First Hill and Central District branches. The branch is scheduled to open in October at 240th and Bothell-Everett Highway. KeyBank has 163 branches in Washington.

University of Idaho

The University of Idaho named Melinda Hamilton as director of science, technology, engineering and math education initiatives. Hamilton has been director of educational programs at the Idaho National Laboratory for four years and begins her university appointment in October.

Columbia Bank

Tacoma-based Columbia Bank promoted Brian Kuh to branch manager of the Sequim branch. Kuh joined Columbia Bank in 2011 as commercial banking officer and previously served as a commercial lender at First Federal and branch manager at American Marine Bank. Columbia Banking System is the holding company of Columbia State Bank, a Washington state-chartered commercial bank.

Alaska State Chamber of Commerce

The Alaska State Chamber of Commerce hired Ryan Makinster as communications and events director, and Al Cramer as membership representative. Makinster was partner in Fine Point, an advertising firm, and Cramer was general manager of the Parkwood Inn.

City of Seattle

Scott Cline, Seattle city archivist, has been inducted as a fellow in the Society of American Archivists in San Diego. The society ensures the identification, preservation and use of records with historical value.

Jansen

Everett-based Coast Equity Partners said Josh Jansen has joined the firm as a principal. He was director of Coast|Sperry Van Ness' multi-family sales group, and now will be vice president of acquisitions. Coast Equity Partners is a real estate investment firm that acquires and operates properties in the western United States for investors. It is buying apartments, manufactured housing parks, medical-office, commercial-office and retail.

Gleason & Co.

Turpin

Kent-based Gleason & Co. Commercial Real Estate has added Charlotte Turpin as administrative assistant to work with owner Chad Gleason on marketing, leasing and tenant relations. She has a background in customer service and administration, and worked at the Kent Downtown Partnership and Holland America Cruise Line. Gleason provides property management, landlord representation, tenant representation and investment analysis.

Marcus & Millichap

Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services has promoted Armand Tiberio to senior vice president investments. Tiberio joined Marcus & Millichap in July of 2001. He was promoted to vice president investments in July of 2008 and to first vice president investments in January of 2010.

Julie Benezet to address CREW

The September CREW luncheon speaker will be Julie Benezet, founder of Business Growth Consulting, with an interactive presentation called “Leadership: The Journey of Not Knowing.” Benezet will talk about how to overcome uncertainty and fear. Benezet has worked as an executive, lawyer and entrepreneur, and was vice president of corporate resources and director of global real estate for Amazon.com. Kirkland-based Wave Business Solutions hired Billi Jean Gurnsey as small business manager for Washington state. Gurnsey has 25 years of sales and management experience with a history of community support and activism throughout the area. Wave Business Solutions is part of WaveDivision Holdings providing video, internet and phone services and currently serves Washington, Oregon and California.

YWCA Seattle/King/Snohomish

Kettman

The YWCA Seattle/King/Snohomish promoted Julie Kettman as director of communications and marketing. Kettman has been with the YWCA since 2005 as community affairs specialist; promoted to community affairs manager in 2007 and promoted again to director of events and planning in 2011. The YWCA advances the quality of life for women of all ages, races and faiths meeting critical needs, promote self-sufficiency, reduce violence and achieve equal opportunities.

The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute

The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute hired Michael Cerne as executive director to begin January 2013. Ray Riutta, current executive director retires at the end of the year and will provide the transitional training. The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute is a nonprofit organization in partnership with the State of Alaska and the Alaska seafood industry, promoting Alaska Seafood in the U.S. and overseas markets.
