Wells Fargo Advisors

Trafford

St. Louis-based Wells Fargo Advisors hired Mark Trafford as complex manager for the Kirkland and Issaquah offices. Trafford has 18 years of experience in the brokerage business and previously served as branch manager for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Wells Fargo Advisors is a national brokerage firm.

Columbia Hospitality

Seattle-based Columbia Hospitality has a new agreement with Bremerton to manage Gold Mountain Golf Club effective Jan. 1, 2013. This is Columbia's fifth management acquisition in a year. Columbia Hospitality is a management and consulting company specializing in conference centers, boutique hotels and inns.

Washington State University Extension

Rich Koenig is the new associate dean and director of Washington State University Extension. Koenig is former chair of the WSU department of crop and soil sciences. WSU Extension includes outreach programs in agriculture, natural resources, community and economic development, and youth and family.

Cairncross & Hemplemann

Seattle-based law firm Cairncorss & Hemplemann hired Jason Smith and David Herrman as of counsel and Victoria Stephanova as an associate. Smith worked at Lane Powell's Portland office, Herrman served as partner at Bucklin Evens and Stephanova spent the summer of 2011 at the firm before her final year of law school.

Seattle Arts Commission

The Seattle Arts Commission appointed Terri Hiroshima and Philmon Haile as new members. Hiroshima is director of marketing and external relations at Crosscut Public Media and has worked for 18 years in the arts for Seattle Theatre Group, Empty Space Theatre and One Reel. Haile was born in Sudan and is now studying international studies and anthropology at the University of Washington. The commission members are appointed by the mayor and city council.

King County Office of Public Defense

The Metropolitan King County Council appointed David Chapman as director of the Office of Public Defense, the county agency responsible for legal services for indigent defendants.

City Club

City Club will meet Nov. 6 for a panel discussion about “The Making of a Neighborhood” at Rainier Square Atrium in Seattle. Phillips Real Estate Services

Phillips Real Estate Services' President and Managing Partner Louie Micheli was selected by the Rental Housing Association as the 2012 Community Service Award winner. Micheli was chosen for his support of Compass Housing Center. Compass Housing Alliance has received nearly $200,000 from Phillips' clients, vendor-participants, partners and employees. Compass helps families transition from homelessness.

Washington State Chapter of CCIM

The Washington State Chapter of CCIM recognizes eight chapter members who recently earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation from the CCIM Institute: Caleb Farnworth of Rosen Harbottle, Kelly Muldrow of Windermere, Sharry Nadjm of Marcus & Millichap, Kelly Richardson of Rowley Properties, James Schone, Port of Seattle, Patrick Starr of John L. Scott, Brian Stuchell of Eclipse Real Estate Group and Jonathan Tran of Rainier Property Management.

NBS Financial Services

NBS Financial Services Principal Mike Wood and Associate Finance Officer Andrew Patterson arranged $9 million for Pioneer Village Shopping Center in Orting, 40 miles south of Seattle. The 82,130-square-foot center was built in 2000. It is anchored by Safeway and is 92 percent occupied. The borrower was seeking a long-term, fully amortizing loan. NBS said the rate is in the low 4 percent range on a 20-year loan term with a 20-year amortization.
