Anchorage, Alaska-based Siku Construction opened an office in Seattle to focus on owner representation, pre-construction and construction management services for clients on the West Coast. It is headed up by newly hired general manager Bill Polis, who has been involved in the local construction scene for more than 30 years. Siku Construction, an SBA 8(a) company, is one of four subsidiaries under the UICCS umbrella. UICCS is a holding company of Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corp., an Alaska Native corporation of the village of Barrow.

Express Construction hired Matt Durant as superintendent. Durant has more than 11 years of construction industry experience, specializing in tenant improvements. Bellevue-based Express is a commercial general contractor.


The Construction Industry Training Council of Washington hired Olivia Riojas as a continuing education program assistant and Shannon Alexander as an executive assistant. Riojas is bi-lingual in Spanish and English. She holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Washington. Alexander is becoming a certified National Center for Construction Education and Research assessment proctor. She holds a bachelor's degree in corporate communications from Seton Hill University and a master's degree in communications from Northern Illinois University. CITC offers continuing education courses for apprentices and journey-level workers in electrical, HVAC and plumbing.
Won Moc joined Lydig Construction as western region marketing manager. Moc has expertise in brand development, process improvement and content workspace development in the built environment. He holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Seattle University. Lydig has offices in Bellevue, Spokane and the Tri-Cities.

Lane Powell shareholder Gail Mautner was elected as a fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. The organization is made up of more than 2,600 trust and estate lawyers and law professors from the U.S. and Canada.

Seattle-based Providence Mount St. Vincent named Dr. Eric Troyer medical director of the new transitional care unit. Troyer also works as medical director of the Swedish Residential Care Team and has been a staff physician at Swedish since 1998. Providence Mount St. Vincent in West Seattle offers older adults a range of services and support.
Governor Christine Gregoire appointed Fife council member Pat Hulcey to the Freight Mobility Strategic Investment Board. The term runs until June 30, 2016. The board is involved with programs that facilitate freight movement in local, national and international markets.

Seattle-based Laird Norton Tyee hired Nick MacPhee as director of foundation and advisory services. MacPhee has 25 years of nonprofit and corporate experience and worked as managing director at the Laird Norton Family Foundation. Laird Norton Tyee is a privately held wealth management firm.


Seattle law firm Carney Badley Spellman hired Parker Keehn and Susan Schalla as associates. Keehn practices civil and commercial litigation and construction law. Schalla focuses on business mergers, acquisitions and taxation laws.
Seattle-based Freezer Longline Coalition hired Chad See as executive director. See has 10 years of experience developing coalitions and advocating to federal officials in the administration and Congress. He previously worked at K&L Gates in the public policy and law group in Washington, D.C. The coalition is a nonprofit corporation representing owners and operators of freezer longline vessels in the Pacific cod fishery in the Bering Sea.
