DCI Engineers

Tuttle

Goetz

DCI Engineers appointed Carey Goetz and Donald Tuttle shareholders and promoted Goetz to chief financial officer and Tuttle to principal in charge of business development. Both work in the Seattle office. Goetz has been DCI's controller for 2.5 years. He has more than 23 years of accounting experience, including ten years in the aerospace industry and work in the construction field. He is responsible for internal accounting and financing and maintaining strong relations with financial institutions, CPA firms, and legal advisors. Tuttle has been DCI's director of business development for three years. He has more than 25 years of experience and an extensive network in the A/E/C industry. Previously he was the CMO for Karlsberger Architects in Columbus, Ohio and director of business development and marketing at MulvannyG2 Architecture in Bellevue. He will help position the firm's seven offices locally, regionally and nationally, contribute to DCI's strategic direction and growth, and do client development. DCI is a civil and structural consulting engineering firm based in Seattle, with offices also in Spokane; Portland and Eugune, Ore.; San Diego and Irvine, Calif.; and Austin, Texas.

Swenson Say Faget

Krebs

Swenson Say Faget hired structural engineer Pete Krebs in its Seattle office. He has experience in commercial, health care, hospitality and mixed-use projects that include Microsoft's Redmond Ridge and Skagit Valley Hospital. He will do project management, client development and design and analysis of concrete, steel, masonry and wood structures. He is working on the Fairfield Inn in The Dalles, Ore., and two local residential remodels. Swenson Say Faget is a structural engineering firm. It also has a Tacoma office.

Washington Patriot Construction of Gig Harbor hired Mac Stanton as operations manager. Stanton has 13 years of industry experience, most recently as a construction management consultant for a Seattle firm. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington.

Logelin

Robert Logelin joined Express Construction of Bellevue as a superintendent. Logelin has more than 30 years of construction industry experience, including retail, commercial, industrial, military, hospitality and multifamily projects.

Skanska USA

Uber

Mindy Uber was promoted from assistant environmental health and safety director to safety director in Skanska's Seattle office. Uber serves on the National Environmental Leadership Team and is a Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional and LEED AP practitioner. Also, Skanska's civil construction group hired Ken Cauble as a site safety and health officer, Tony Hartley as an environmental manager, Ken Wagner as a schedule manager, Jeff Russell as an alternate quality control manager and Brisa Leachman as part of the administrative team.

BIAW

Building Industry Association of Washington members Sherry L. Schwab and Joseph Irons won awards from the National Association of Home Builders. Schwab was named the 2012 Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist of the Year. She is president of Bellevue's HCS Construction Services, and holds NAHB's Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist and Certified Graduate Remodeler designations. Irons was named the 2013 Graduate Master Builder of the Year, the highest professional designation a builder can earn through NAHB. Irons is the owner and operator of Irons Brothers Construction. He holds the Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist, Certified Green Professional, Certified Graduate Remodeler and Graduate Master Builder designations.

Sedell

Seattle law firm Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson hired Justin M. Sedell as an of counsel attorney in its family law practice group. Sedell worked as law clerk to judges Mary I. Yu and Steven Gonzalez in King County Superior Court. His practice is exclusively limited to Family Law in all phases of litigation from the trial court through the Washington Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court.

Seattle-based law firm Riddell Williams announced the election of Joshua M. Piper to principal. Piper is a member of the firm's trust, estates and personal planning practice group.

Washington State Dept. of Veterans Affairs

Alvarado-Ramos

Gov. Jay Inslee appointed Lourdes E. Alvarado-Ramos as the first woman to serve as director of the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs. Alvarado-Ramos served 22 years on active duty, retiring as command sergeant major and troop command sergeant major of Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis. She joined the department in 1993 and was appointed deputy director in 2005. The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs serves as an advocate for the state's military veterans and their families.

K&L Gates

Seattle-based law firm K&L Gates named Carley Andrews, Carlos Chavez, Mark Heine, and Kari Vander Stoep as partners in the firm's Seattle office. Andrews practices technology licensing and commercial transactions; Chavez represents educational agencies; Heine represents large public institutions, private investment programs and Vander Stoep practices litigation at the trial and appellate level.

Dorsey & Whitney

Minneapolis-based business law firm Dorsey & Whitney announced that Traeger Machetanz and Jon DeMella have joined the firm's Seattle office as partners. Machetanz and DeMella were previously partners with Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker.

Stokes Lawrence

Seattle-based Stokes Lawrence announced Sean Griffee, Jason Holloway, Garon Jones, Sean Russel and Dustin Yeager as new shareholders. Stokes Lawrence is a full-service law firm with offices in Seattle and Yakima.
