Walla Walla-based Banner Bank hired Jac-e Albertsen as real estate loan officer in Everett. Albertsen was a loan officer for Whidbey Island Bank. Banner Bank is a Washington-chartered commercial bank with 86 locations in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
The Washington State Fair in Puyallup sold naming rights for the ShowPlex exhibition center to Sleep Country USA. For the next 10 years, the 122,000-square-foot facility will be called the Sleep Country ShowPlex. Kent Hojem is CEO of the Washington State Fair.
Renton-based Natural Molecular Testing Corp. named Michael H. Kalnoski, MD the laboratory director. Kalnoski started a FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization) laboratory, and most recently worked as a medical director at several regional hospitals and laboratories in Washington and Alaska. Natural Molecular Testing is privately owned.
Seattle-based developer DSB Investments bought the Glacier View Apartments at 5904 Highway Pl. in Everett for $1.12 million, or $86,000 per unit. The 13-unit complex was built in 1969 and renovated in 2009. The company said it has purchased 100 units for approximately $7.2 million since the third quarter of 2012. DSB represented itself and Saint Newton of Paragon Real Estate Advisors represented the seller, a private investor.
Gardnerglobal Inc. has started a new company, Onpoint Real Estate Services LLC, which is an independent, boutique brokerage. The company will handle property management, consulting and brokerage services. The company recently hired Damon McGruder to be a designated broker. McGruder has 15 years of experience as a designated broker and broker trainer. He was previously a real estate contracting officer at the Federal Aviation Administration. He has also worked as a managing broker for two regional firms.
Bentall Kennedy was named the Energy Star Partner of the Year for the Seattle and Toronto regions. The Toronto-based company was given a sustained excellence award for its commitment to new energy efficiency goals throughout its portfolio. The real estate investment advisor has more than 500 clients with commercial space valued at $29 billion, including $8.4 billion in the U.S.
Washington D.C.-based Madison Marquette Real Estate named Tory Glossip senior general manager for the Washington portfolio. Glossip will oversee six Washington properties, which total more than 1.3 million square feet, in Seattle, Issaquah, Lynnwood and Lake Forest Park. Prior to joining Madison Marquette in 2007, Glossip was a property manager for Alliance Residential.

Allana Buick & Bers architectural engineering firm promoted Petersen Lambert to associate principal. Lambert manages the Seattle office. Previously, he helped launch the Los Angeles office, where he was divisional manager and a consultant. He has experience in building envelope, roofing, waterproofing, and exterior wall systems. He also oversees planning, production, team management and client management for the region. The firm is headquartered in Palo Alto, Calif.

Metrix Engineers hired Erik Olnon as a project manager. Olnon has more than 10 years of experience, including leading design and construction of high-rise mixed-use buildings. Olnon holds a master's in business administration and a bachelor's in mechanical engineering. Metrix is a mechanical engineering firm in Renton.


Tres West Engineers of Tacoma promoted David Moore and Sean J. Roy to principal. They were responsible for mechanical and electrical systems design on the new SR 99 tunnel north and south operations buildings, and the Port of Seattle bus maintenance facility. Moore has been with Tres West for more than 10 years. Roy has worked at the firm for six years. He has 20-plus years of experience as a design engineer. Tres West provides mechanical and electrical systems engineering.

Candela hired Alison Horne as a lighting designer in the Lynnwood headquarters. Horne has three years of experience and is working on the Sammamish High School Atrium and Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland, Calif.





GeoEngineers' shareholders re-elected principal environmental engineer Dana Carlisle (Redmond) and elected principal geologist Dave Cook (Seattle) to the board of directors. The firm also promoted geotechnical engineer Paul Wasser (Boise) and marketing and communications director Chris Nordfors (Seattle) to principal, and environmental scientist Tony Orme (Tacoma) to associate. Nancy Musgrove has been hired as an environmental scientist and Brian Tracy and Dean Chahim as environmental engineers in the Seattle office. The Redmond office hired Britta Nelson as a geologist, Valerie Spencer as a billing coordinator and Jerry Tindall as IT support services manager. Blair Deaver re-joined GeoEngineers' Bend office as a software product manager in the technology solutions group. The earth science, engineering and technology consulting firm is headquartered in Seattle, with 12 offices nationwide.
The Blueline Group hired Kristal Greenhaw as a project engineer. Greenhaw has more than 19 years of experience (including eight of project management) on single-family, commercial and public works projects. Blueline provides civil engineering and land development consulting services in the Northwest.
Michael Jacobson, deputy director of performance and strategy in King County's Office of Performance, Strategy and Budget, won the Harry Hatry Distinguished Performance Measurement Practice Award. The award is given by the American Society for Public Administration's Center for Accountability and Performance.
The Metropolitan King County Council appointed Ketu Shah as judge in the Northeast Division of King County District Court. Shah has been practicing law in Washington since 1995 and as a judge pro tem in King County since 2007. She is the first judge of East Indian descent in Washington.
Bellevue-based Schwartz Brothers appointed Peter Coulter as corporate executive chef. Coulter will oversee Daniel's Broiler, Chandler's Crabhouse, Spazzo Italian Grill, Schwartz Brothers Bakery and Gretchen's Shoebox Express.
