Hewitt promoted Christine Scharrer to senior associate and Mary Wyllie to associate. Scharrer has been with the firm for 10 years, focusing on transportation projects. She is project manager on the Capitol Hill and Roosevelt light rail stations. Wyllie is project architect for the Northgate Light Rail Station. She also has a background in Revit BIM design. Hewitt is a Seattle-based architecture, landscape architecture and urban design firm.

Perteet promoted Jesse Thomsen to Seattle design manager. He will manage that office's design staff and focus on sustainable projects through pavement design, drainage and multi-modal corridors. Thomsen has been with the firm for 13 years, designing and managing transportation projects for Northwest agencies. Perteet is an engineering firm with offices in Everett, Seattle and Snoqualmie.


Maul Foster & Alongi hired Chris Webb as a principal engineer in the Bellingham office. Staff planner Jacqueline Gruber is relocating to the Seattle office. Webb, formerly of Chris Webb & Associates, is a civil engineer with more than 20 years of experience. He has a background in LID stormwater designs, LEED and sustainable civil engineering. Gruber has experience in environmental and land use planning, and supports marketing efforts in the Puget Sound region. MFA is a Northwest environmental engineering and planning firm.

Buckland & Taylor hired John Brestin as vice president and major projects director in the Seattle office, overseeing many national projects and managing large complex projects. Brestin has years of experience, most recently as vice president and project director at HNTB in Kansas City. North Vancouver, B.C.-based Buckland & Taylor works with clients worldwide.

SRG Partnership hired senior medical planner Dena Cook to the health care team in Portland. Cook has 18 years of experience, primarily in planning, design and project management of health care and lab/research facilities. Her portfolio includes projects for Legacy Health and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. She is a board member for Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center.

HDJ Design Group hired Katie Daniel as an inspector III. Daniel has 19 years of experience with project management, cost estimating, construction inspection and field supervision. She is a construction inspector III, construction manager, and DOT erosion control inspector in Oregon and Washington. Vancouver-based HDJ provides engineering, planning, land surveying and landscape architecture.

Sherri Grueneis is now a shareholder in Freiheit & Ho Architects. Grueneis is an associate principal and corporation secretary with 13 years in the industry. She leads a team that focuses on McDonald's projects in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Alaska and Idaho. Grueneis also directs retail, assisted living and religious projects. She will help shape the firm's strategic direction.

Jesse Langdon joined Floyd|Snider as a GIS specialist. He has more than 12 years of experience with geospatial technology solutions in municipal and state government, conservation and ecology research. At Floyd|Snider, he works on cartography and data visualization, spatial data analysis, web mapping application development, and geospatial database construction and management.
Seattle-based Fearey Group promoted Laura Ray to senior vice president. Ray has played an instrumental role in expanding the built environment and sustainability practice areas. The Fearey Group is an independent public relations and public affairs firm.
Seattle-based communications agency PRR announced promotions and new hires in the Seattle office. Promotions: Kirsten Hauge to senior associate II, Laura LaBissoniere Miller to associate II, Lynsey Gilchrist Burgess to associate III and Britt Thorson to account executive. Hires: Diana Steeble, Kathy Schomer, Anne Broache, Haley Reutimann, Jennifer Rash, Kate Elliott, Maks Goldenshteyn and Myra Keovilayhong.
The Southwest King County Chamber of Commerce board of directors named Carol Kolson as new president and CEO effective April 8. Kolson has been involved with the Southwest King County Chamber for six years. She has had a 28-year banking career, most recently at HomeStreet Bank.
