Pacific Northwest Ballet Executive Director D. David Brown will retire in June 2014 after more than 14 years with PNB. He served as chairman of the board of Dance/USA and was president of the Washington State Arts Alliance, and is active in the Washington State Arts Commission. A committee will search for a replacement.
North Seattle Community College President Mark Mitsui has been selected as deputy assistant secretary for community colleges at the U.S. Department of Education in the Office of Vocational and Adult Education. Mitsui oversaw completion of the Opportunity Center for Employment and Education, which combines employment help, social services, financial counseling, basic skills and education. It served more than 50,000 people last year, and won an award from the League for Innovation in the Community College.
Hacker Group, a Seattle digital/direct marketing agency, named Steve Rosenblum executive director. He is a senior integrated marketing executive who has been with Hacker since 2009. Rosenblum has 25 years of experience in direct, digital and traditional marketing, and has worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance and JPMorgan Chase.

Jones Lang LaSalle has hired Daniel Jackson as an associate to focus on tenant and landlord representation in Kent Valley and south Seattle industrial markets. Jackson, who was a professional soccer player, started an online commerce company focused on youth sports and was director of sales for Korrio, a cloud-based service for organizing youth sports. Jones Lang LaSalle has more than 1,000 offices in 70 countries. It managed 2.6 billion square feet of space in 2012 and brokered $63 billion in transactions.

NAI Puget Sound Properties hired Matt Glade as a senior associate, specializing in industrial tenant representation in south Puget Sound. Glade was previously with Colliers International. He previously worked at Northwest Handling, which designs and makes equipment such as forklifts. NAI Puget Sound Properties has offices in Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma, and specializes in leasing and sales of office, retail and industrial properties.
SouthEast Effective Development, an affordable housing and arts nonprofit that focuses on Southeast Seattle, hired Everett-based Coast Real Estate Services to manage seven SEED properties in the region: Oregon Place apartments, Lilac Lodge, Charlestown apartments, Columbia Hotel apartments, 3904 Martin Luther King Jr. Way apartments, Nuuanu Pali apartments and Claremont apartments. Coast manages approximately 10,000 apartments and more than 5 million square feet of retail and office space.
Spokane-based Red Lion Hotels added Riverside Hotel in Boise to the Leo Hotel Collection, a portfolio of boutique, historic and destination hotels. The Riverside has 300 rooms on a 14-acre site near the Boise River, as well as 21,000 square feet of meeting space; an outdoor pool; outdoor chess and petanque courts; multiple restaurants and bars; and a concert venue. Red Lion launched the Leo division earlier this year. This is the second Leo hotel, joining the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.
The Washington chapter of NAIOP will hear about the Seattle waterfront project at the next meeting: 7 a.m. June 19 at the Four Seasons in Seattle. Maggie Walker, co-chair of the Central Waterfront Committee, and Marshall Foster, planning director for the city, will discuss the goals, timeline, design and impact on the community.
