Philanthropy Northwest

Philanthropy Northwest, a regional network of philanthropic grantmakers, named Jeff Clarke its new CEO, replacing Carol Lewis, who is retiring after eight years. Lewis will join The Giving Practice, Philanthropy NW's consulting division, as a consultant. Clarke is now a senior adviser with The Giving Practice. He was interim president and CEO of Council on Foundations, and vice president at Rasmuson Foundation in Alaska. He has also worked in management consulting, tech services and was a director of the U.S. Ski Team.

Lane Powell elected three attorneys in Seattle to shareholder, effective Jan. 1, 2014. Jacob M. Downs focuses on employment and business litigation and represents companies before regulatory agencies, state and federal courts, and private arbitration. Laura Marquez-Garrett focuses on complex litigation in consumer finance, securities, real estate, consumer protection, class action defense, white collar defense, and financial investigations and enforcement proceedings. Andrew J. Stevenson focuses on business immigration law including professional workers, employment eligibility compliance, investment-based visas, immigration audits, worker visas, family immigration and citizenship.

Bank of the Pacific

Aberdeen-based Bank of the Pacific, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pacific Financial Corp., has opened a full-service branch at 651 S.E. Martin Ave. in Warrenton, Ore. It also has branches in Seaside and Astoria, Ore., and 16 branches in Grays Harbor, Pacific, Whatcom, Skagit and Wahkiakum counties in Washington. Loan production centers are in Clark, Skagit and Thurston counties. Pam Rush is the Warrenton branch manager.

Hacker Group

Hacker Group, digital/direct marketing agency in Seattle, promoted Matt Witter from vice president account services to general manager. The company was founded in 1986.

WildSide Pets

WildSide Pets, a full-service pet store, has moved from Puyallup to Lakewood. It opened in 2004 and is run by Cindy Taylor and her daughter, Cari Aida. They are licensed to sell exotic animals such as sugar gliders, squirrels and hedgehogs, as well as common domestic pets. They also sell supplies and services. The new store is at 3615 Steilacoom Blvd. S.W.

Microsoft's Pittenger wins award

Jay Pittenger, senior regional director of real estate and facilities for Microsoft, was named Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year by the Washington state chapter of CoreNet Global. Pittenger is in charge of the 15 million-square-foot campus in Redmond as well as sites and campuses in North, Central and South America. CoreNet Global is a worldwide group for real estate executives and professionals.

Kilroy starts San Francisco projects

Los Angeles-based Kilroy Realty Corp., which owns several buildings in Seattle, broke ground on a two-building, 300,000-square-foot complex in Redwood City near San Francisco. It also got approval for a six-story, 170,000-square-foot office project in San Francisco's South of Market (SoMa) neighborhood. Kilroy is building campuses for LinkedIn and Synopsys in the Silicon Valley, and an office tower in downtown San Francisco for Salesforce.com. Kilroy owns buildings in Seattle, Bellevue and Kirkland, and recently paid $170 million for the Westlake/Terry buildings in South Lake Union.

Comcast opens opens Oregon office

Comcast has a new office in Tigard, Ore., southwest of Portland. Approximately 325 employees will work in the 87,250-square-foot building at 11308 S.W. 68th Parkway. Gromatzky Dupree and Associates renovated the building, and Lease Crutcher Lewis was the general contractor. The building has large meeting rooms, one-on-one meeting areas and community spaces.
