In the Redmond office, Golder Associates hired Todd Koontz as a Microsoft Dynamics business and data analyst, Zachery Lifton as a geologist, Kathryn Stevens as a project coordinator, and Mary Elder as a receptionist. Mike Boisvert transferred to Redmond as a senior CADD technician. In Lake Oswego, Ore., the firm hired Jim Wilkinson as a senior consultant and Darcy Renda as a staff administrative assistant. Koontz provides end-user support, business intelligence reporting and system optimization of the Dynamics software. He was a Dynamics system administrator. Lifton holds a Ph.D. and has experience in geologic hazards for pipelines, seismic hazards and geomorphology. Stevens coordinates project deliverables and processes accounts payable. She has worked in the environmental/engineering field for 10 years. Elder was an administrator for nonprofits.

Boisvert was New England operations CADD manager at Golder's Manchester, N.H., office. Wilkinson holds a Ph.D. in engineering and public policy. He manages air quality modeling studies, meteorological modeling, emissions modeling, environmental database design and public policy issues. Renda provides administrative support in the Lake Oswego office and corporate business information systems. She was an administrator in the legal field. Golder is a global ground engineering and environmental consulting firm, with Pacific Northwest offices also in Coeur d'Alene and Portland.

City of Tacoma

Tacoma City Manager T.C. Broadnax named Kurtis Kingsolver to be Public Works director and Peter Huffman to be Planning & Development Services director. Both were serving on an interim basis. Kingsolver joined the city as a civil engineer in 1990, and has served as traffic engineer and city engineer, working on large capital projects such as Murray Morgan Bridge, Pacific Avenue streetscape, Stadium Way arterial and Hylebos Bridge. Huffman has worked on the comprehensive plan, land use codes, and improving permitting services, zoning standards and customer service.

Pilchuck Glass School

Collectors, philanthropists and artists raised $1.2 million at the 35th Annual Pilchuck Glass School auction at The Westin Seattle in October. Proceeds from the event will benefit glass education and artist residencies.

Troy Johnson joined Adolfson & Peterson Construction as project manager and Justin Kessel was promoted to regional controller. Both work in the firm's Pacific Northwest Region office. Johnson is focusing on senior living and health care. He comes from Marathon Development and has 20 years of industry experience. Kessel has 11 years of industry experience, and has been with A&P since March. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Washington.

PCL Civil Constructors

Chuck Monninger joined PCL Civil Constructors' Seattle Transportation Infrastructure Group as a design-build coordinator. Monninger has 35 years of experience in heavy civil construction, including roadways, bridges, transit and water resource projects. At PCL, he is working on design-build and GC/CM projects throughout the company's western region.

McGillie

Seattle-based Global Diving & Salvage hired Anita McGillie as human resources manager. McGillie is directing Global's Human Resources Group in the development of HR policies and compliance, company-wide recruitment, EEO and diversity programs, and employee benefits. She has 13 years of HR experience.

Milgard Windows & Doors

Builder magazine named Milgard Windows & Doors a 2013 Readers Choice “favorite product.” Tacoma-based Milgard was picked in an annual product survey conducted online and through phone calls to builders. It is a Masco company.

Kent School District

Superintendent Dr. Edward Lee Vargas of the Kent School District was named 2014 Superintendent of the Year by the Washington Association of School Administrators.

NanoString

NanoString Technologies, a provider of life science tools for research and diagnostic products, named David W. Ghesquiere senior vice president of Corporate and Business Development. He has more than 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. As SVP at Dendreon, he led the pursuit of next-generation technologies and therapeutics.

Visualant

Visualant, a provider of disruptive light-based technologies, promoted Dr. Richard Mander to chief technology officer. He developed ChromaID, a light-based identification and measurement technology. Mander also worked at Apple on emerging technologies.
