Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo & Co. is expanding its Silicon Valley-based Technology Banking Division in Seattle with the hiring of John Flemming and Derek Watanabe. Flemming joined Wells Fargo in 2007 after working for Silicon Valley Bank serving tech clients in the Northwest. Watanabe worked for U.S. Bank in Bellevue and Seattle, most recently as a portfolio manager and team leader. The technology division has four groups: technology, clean tech, life sciences and venture fund services. It has nine offices nationwide in California, Austin, Boston and Seattle.

Nintex

Bellevue-based Nintex, a creator of workflow software, said Eric Johnson is the new chief financial officer. Christian Smith is senior vice president of global sales. Johnson comes from Jive Software where he was vice president of finance.

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center

The Hutchinson Institute for Cancer Outcomes Research, a research institute based at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, hired Gary Lyman as co-director. He was a professor of medicine and senior fellow at Duke Center for Clinical Health Policy Research. Lyman will co-lead HICOR with Scott Ramsey.

Popp

Ana-Maria Popp, David Herrman and Randall Olsen are now principals at Cairncross & Hempelmann. Popp is a trial attorney and complex business dispute resolution strategist. Her practice includes construction litigation, corporate and partnership disputes, real estate litigation and personal injury. Herrman's practice concentrates on condo and homeowner associations, real estate transactions, development, limited liability companies and leasing. Olsen's practice focuses on real estate development and landowners' property rights. He helps lead the Transit Oriented Development Group.

Hacker Group

Hacker Group, a Seattle digital/direct marketing agency, named Margaret Price director of strategic planning and Richard Jacroux chief financial officer. Price was with Ogilvy & Mather-WPP as a strategic planning director, and also worked for Saatchi, Saatchi X and Wunderman. Jacroux has held CFO positions at Cole & Weber, Light Doctor and Digital Kitchen.

Friends of Youth

Kirkland-based Friends of Youth said Joan McBride and Vincent Hayes have joined the board of directors. McBride was mayor of Kirkland and is a former Friends of Youth employee. Hayes is a graduate of Friends of Youth's Griffin Home program and has a master's degree in social work.

McAvoy hires Brown

Brown

McAvoy Real Estate, a condo sales firm, hired Stephanie Brown to be a sales coordinator. She was an executive assistant with Nyhus Communications, and worked for Vulcan Real Estate and Urban Realty Group on such projects as 2200 Westlake, Olive 8 and the Seattle Seahawks facility. McAvoy specializes in downtown condos such as Olive 8 and Four Seasons Private Residences.

Join Tacoma's redevelopment board

Tacoma City Council is looking to fill two vacancies on the Community Redevelopment Authority Board. The 10-member board gives loans to a variety of clients including low-income families, low-income housing developers, businesses and nonprofits. Board members serve two-year terms. Experience in construction or development is required. Applications are due Feb. 14. Lennar moves to in-house marketing

Lennar Seattle has moved to an in-house sales and marketing division. The Miami-based company has an office Puyallup. It was working with Matrix Real Estate on sales and marketing. Lennar entered the Seattle market in 2011 when it bought Premier Communities, a Puyallup-based homebuilder. Lennar's website says it has 16 projects in Seattle. The company builds housing in urban and suburban communities in 18 states.

Schroth buys Eastlake complex for $3M

Ted Schroth, developer of Oddfellows Building and Trace Lofts on Capitol Hill, bought a 17,000-square-foot retail property at 2501 Eastlake Ave. E. for $3.15 million. Brian Bergman of Westlake Associates brokered the sale. The complex has one vacant space and is being renovated. Laura Miller of Gibraltar LLC is handling the listing.

Conference here on BIM March 26

The Seminar Group will hold a conference on the use of building information modeling on construction projects at 1 p.m. March 26 at City University of Seattle. BIM is used to generate digital representations of buildings. The conference will explore BIM's future and how architects, contractors and attorneys can use it. The seminar is available via webcast.
