Moss Adams Wealth Advisors

Moss Adams Wealth Advisors LLC announced that John de Carvalho has joined the firm as its chief investment officer.

A CFA charterholder with more than 10 years of capital markets experience, de Carvalho will be responsible for overseeing more than $1.6 billion in managed assets. He will work with clients across the nation from the firm's Seattle office.

“As we continue to grow and our clients' needs become more sophisticated, it has become necessary to have a chief investment officer who can drive the future of our expanding asset portfolios,” said Rebecca Pomering, CEO of Moss Adams Wealth Advisors. “John is an incredible asset to the firm, and his thought leadership is going to bring a tremendous amount of value to our clients.”

Starbucks

Starbucks Coffee Company announced new leaders for two key positions. Starbucks Canada president Annie Young-Scrivner has been named executive vice president and president, Teavana. Retail operations executive Rossann Williams has been appointed executive vice president and president, Starbucks Canada. Teavana founder and CEO Andy Mack, having helped with the integration of Teavana with Starbucks, has decided to retire from the company.

“Tea is the second most-consumed beverage in the world and represents a sizeable opportunity for Starbucks as we continue to grow around the world,” said Cliff Burrows, group president, U.S., Americas and Teavana. “We are grateful for Andy's leadership establishing Teavana as a world-class leader responsible for bringing premium tea to millions of customers over the past 17 years. Under Annie's leadership, we plan to do for tea what we did for coffee by significantly expanding the availability of new and innovative Teavana products in Starbucks and Teavana retail stores and through other channels.”

Juneau harbormaster

A civilian worker for the Coast Guard has been named Juneau's new harbormaster. David Borg has worked seven years as a recreational boating safety analyst. He was among five finalists for the harbormaster position. The position has been vacant since November. Borg is scheduled to begin his harbormaster post in late March.

Marcus & Millichap Capital Corp., a subsidiary of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, promoted Raymond Allen to director in its Seattle office. Allen has been with Marcus & Millichap since 2011. Before that he was a vice president with Capital Real Estate Finance. Marcus & Millichap also promoted David Campbell and Colton Smith to directors of the Palo Alto, Calif., and Salt Lake City offices. Marcus & Millichap Capital Corp. advises clients on financing of apartments, office and industrial buildings and other properties.

Toll Bros. opens Bellevue homes

CamWest, a Toll Bros. company, has opened The Enclave at Newport Hills, a 10-home community in Bellevue's Newport Hills neighborhood. Prices range from $700,000 to $720,000. The largest homes have five bedrooms, three bathrooms and three-car garages. The project is within walking distance of two parks. Toll Bros. is based in Horsham, Pa. and bought Kirkland-based homebuilder CamWest in 2011. Toll Brothers has 19 projects throughout the region, primarily on the Eastside.

NAIOP holds women's luncheon March 12

The Washington chapter of NAIOP will hold it's first women's luncheon at 11:30 a.m. March 12 at Fairmont Olympic Hotel, 411 University St. The event will celebrate accomplishments of women in commercial real estate. Angela Park, executive director of consulting firm Mission Critical, is the keynote speaker. Park has more than 25 years experience and worked at the White House managing sustainable communities policies during the Clinton administration. Seminar on stormwater laws and regulations

The Seminar Group will hold a meeting called Stormwater Law and Regulation in Washington State at 9 a.m. June 25 at City University of Seattle, 521 Wall St. the all-day meeting will cover permitting and environmental issues and how other cities are handling stormwater policies. Northwest Kidney Centers

Dr. Rijuna Menon has been named medical director of Northwest Kidney Centers' Enumclaw dialysis clinic, one of 15 dialysis clinics operated by the nonprofit kidney care organization.

In that role Dr. Menon will be in charge of quality assessment, performance improvement, staff education, policies and procedures, water quality and safety, and medical leadership for the Enumclaw clinic. She is also staff nephrologist at Valley Medical Center in Renton, where she is involved in primary care, inpatient hospital consultations, transplant and dialysis care.

Wells Fargo & Company

Wells Fargo & Company announced it will invest a $100,000 grant to FareStart in support of its commitment to workforce development and job creation.

“Wells Fargo understands the importance of workforce development and helping create sustainable communities that have been hard hit with unemployment,” said Mark Dederer, VP of Community Affairs in Washington and Oregon. “FareStart has an outstanding reputation and they have produced results that have transformed people's lives. We hope this grant will go a long way to help strengthen and reinforce their efforts.”

West Business Concepts, a Tacoma-based performance consulting and executive coaching firm has rebranded under the new name: Prosperity Logic. It also has a new website at http://www.prosperitylogic.com.

Washington State University

The Board of Regents of Washington State University has given a five-year contract extension to school president Elson S. Floyd. The regents voted Monday to extend his contract from 2016 to 2021. Board Chair Connie Niva says the extension was a result of Floyd's exemplary service to WSU and the state.
