Patent attorneys Kevin D. Jablonski and Bryan A. Santarelli joined Lane Powell's Seattle office in the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group. Both were with Graybeal Jackson LLP, an intellectual property law firm.
Pacific Northwest College of Art named a new board of governors chair: Aric Wood, CEO of Xplane. The board also added a new governor: Norman J. Smith, former president of the Ford Family Foundation. Next February, the school will move into the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design, in the renovated federal building at 511 N.W. Broadway, which is in Portland's North Park Blocks.
Peterson Sullivan LLP, an accounting and advisory firm in Seattle, promoted to partner Scott Jaeger, CPA, CFP, and Mark Mitchell, CFA, ASA. Jaeger is partner in the tax practice. Mitchell is partner and director of valuation services.

Tricia Anderson has joined Port Blakely Companies as corporate controller and treasurer. She was corporate controller at Bsquare Corp. before joining Port Blakely. The company owns and manages operations in forestry and forest products. It is based in Seattle with operations in the Northwest and New Zealand.
Capital Insurance Group of Monterey, California, named Angela Arralde and Jarrett Stewart agency development managers for Washington state. Arralde has more than 20 years in the insurance industry.

Kidder Mathews named Joe Malaspino to a new position: director of engineering in the property management division. Malaspino will manage the building engineering business, including sustainability practices, for West Coast properties. Malaspino has more than 17 years of experience in building operations with Transwestern, Siemens, CBRE and Trammell Crow Co. He was engineering manager for the Westin Building Exchange.
Commercial Real Estate Women Seattle & Sound will hold its annual signature event at 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Space Needle. There will be a silent auction, live music, and food and drink. Sares-Regis Group of Irvine, California, bought two apartment complexes totaling 300 units in the suburbs of Portland and San Diego. They are Westview Heights, a 198-unit townhouse complex in Beaverton, Oregon, and Alta Vista, a 102-unit garden-style complex in Escondido, California. Sares-Regis has an apartment complex in Redmond called The Summit. It owns more than 15 million square of industrial and commercial property and 13,000 apartments.
