CREW: Are we in a bubble?

Commercial Real Estate Women Seattle & Sound's next meeting will focus on whether the current economic boom is a bubble or a sustainable trend. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. May 14 at Washington Athletic Club. Marzano-Moore is IREM delegate

Lynn Marzano-Moore of Seattle has been nominated as a residential manager delegate to the Institute of Real Estate Management's governing council, which has the final say on bylaws, policy and budget. She would represent Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming. Moore is a principal at Property Staffing Associates, a temp agency that focuses on property management. IREM has more than 18,000 individual and 550 corporate members.

Patel heads Asian hotel group in NW

The Asian American Hotel Owners Association named Komal “Tina” Patel of Eugene, Oregon, its Northwest regional director. AAHOA says it is the largest hotel owner association in the world, with more than 14,000 members who own 20,000 properties. Regional leaders coordinate events and meetings, and gather feedback for national representatives.

ULI offers Georgetown tour June 11

Join Urban Land Institute Northwest on a walking tour of Georgetown at 3:30 p.m. June 11. The tour will focus on the galleries, creative businesses, restaurants and manufacturing companies that have changed the neighborhood. The event begins at Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery, 1201 S. UW Medicine

Carena, a telemedicine provider, said UW Medicine is one of four new health system partners that will provide 24/7 care via phone, tablet or computer to a total of 13 million people. The virtual clinics connect patients with board-certified clinicians, with fees that range from free to approximately $50.

Nordic Heritage Museum

Nordic Heritage Museum's collection manager, Fred Poyner IV, won the 2015 AKCHO Virginia Marie Folkins Award for historical publications with his recent book, “The First Sculptor of Seattle: the Life and Art of James A. Wehn.”

Perkins Coie

Perkins Coie said Dr. Lucrezia Colonna, a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Rheumatology/Medicine at University of Washington, received the $20,000 Perkins Coie 2015 Award for Discovery for her work in the prevention of lupus autoimmunity. Lupus affects more than 5 million patients worldwide and there is no definitive treatment. Perkins Coie's grants honor innovation and creativity.

Blue Box

Blue Box, a Seattle-based provider of cloud solutions, has opened a London cloud data center. TelecityGroup is its data center partner in London. This expands Blue Box to four locations: Seattle, Ashburn (Virginia), Zurich and London. Steve Charnock has been hired as commercial director EMEA for Blue Box.
