Systems Interface

Bothell-based Systems Interface has acquired Yeast Systems LLC after 25 years of working together in the food and beverage industry. Gordon Messer owns Yeast Systems. Systems Interface provides industrial control systems for aerospace, maritime, and food and beverage uses.

Weyerhaeuser

Weyerhaeuser Distribution, a distributor of building materials, named David Helmers to lead the division as vice president. Weyerhaeuser Distribution has expanded sales teams and introduced new product lines. Helmers is a 20-year veteran of Weyerhaeuser, most recently director of sales and business development for Weyerhaeuser Distribution.

Maritime Achievement Award

Vince O'Halloran, Seattle branch agent of the Sailor's Union of the Pacific, won the 2015 Puget Sound Maritime Achievement Award. He is also president of Puget Sound Ports Council, Maritime Trades Department, AFL-CIO.

Swinerton Builders Northwest hired James Walmsley as superintendent and Ryan Reese as project engineer; and promoted Mike Davis to senior estimator, Steve Goff to project manager and Melinda Dumadag to administrative manager. Walmsley has 14 years of construction experience and is working in the company's Healthcare Group. Reese is supporting new construction and tenant improvements. Davis joined Swinerton in 2013 as a senior project manager and transitioned into estimating. Goff has been with the company since 2006 as an assistant project manager for tribal and multifamily projects. Dumadag joined Swinerton in 2011 as a project coordinator.

Ryan Healy joined PCL Construction Services in Seattle as business development manager. Healy has 15 years of experience in operations and business development, preconstruction services, general contracting, and design-build commercial development.

Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker

Forner

Eric Forner joined the Construction Law practice group at Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker in Seattle. Forner also practices in the areas of business and real estate, commercial litigation, government contracts, insurance and surety, and estate planning and probate. He holds a law degree from the University of Washington. Prior to law school, he worked for a Seattle-based subcontractor as an estimator and project manager.

Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping

Gary Bernardez joined Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping as chief operating officer at the company's Denver headquarters. Bernardez has 29 years of experience in the construction and industrial services industries. Brundage-Bone has local operations in Kent.

Rafn Co.

Bellevue-based Rafn Co. is the Associated Builders and Contractors' first Certified Green Contractor in Western Washington. The program recognizes construction companies that implement green practices and principles in the workplace, including headquarters, branch offices and jobsite office complexes.

Wayne's Roofing

Sumner-based Wayne's Roofing won a top safety and claims management award from the Associated General Contractors of Washington. Wayne's surpassed the $1 million refund mark due to its safety and light-duty work efforts.
