Seco Development has promoted two employees. Greg Krape has gone from development manager to president. Derek Janke has been promoted from construction manager to vice president of construction operations. Janke will supervise project teams, plan current and future projects, and be responsible for soliciting contractors and professional service proposals. Seco's current projects include a waterfront hotel and office space at Southport in Renton.



NAI Puget Sound Properties of Bellevue promoted three new partners, bring the total to 19. Dave Douglas, managing broker of NAI's Tacoma office and formerly a senior vice president, joined the firm in 2014 with experience at CBRE, GVA Kidder Mathews and Norris, Beggs & Simpson. He focuses on industrial markets in South King, Pierce, Thurston and Lewis counties. Itzik Mizrahi, formerly a vice president, joined NAI in 2010 and focuses on retail including gas stations and hotels. Wyk Parker, formerly a senior vice president, joined NAI in 2011 after working at Pacific Real Estate Partners, Trammell Crow and Colliers. He specializes in sales and leasing.
SVN/Raven hired Suria Elbietar as a corporate real estate advisor on industrial and office property. She spent 11 years as a property manager and worked with Starbucks on everything from site selection to store openings of 400 to 700 stores per year. She has trained real estate teams in Asia, South America, Europe and the Middle East. Andrew Hunter was also hired as a corporate real estate advisor to focus on office leasing and investment. He worked at Boeing in the capital infrastructure group as a risk management specialist. SVN is a brokerage and leasing company focused on the Seattle metro area. It is affiliated with offices throughout the United States and abroad.
Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland named Dr. Donald L. Tuski its new president. Tuski has been president and a professor of anthropology at Maine College of Art. PNCA recently moved to center its campus on the North Park Blocks and launched the Center for Contemporary Art & Culture.
Seattle Public Schools hired JoLynn Berge as chief financial officer, filling the position vacated by Kenneth Gotsch. Berge will oversee the department of finance: budget, payroll, grants, accounting, purchasing and contracts as well as audit response. She will also be involved with financial matters related to human resources. She was with the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction as CFO and assistant superintendent.
VRstudios in Bellevue named Kevin Vitale executive vice president of international operations. He has worked at tech companies in Silicon Valley and Seattle, and been CEO for emerging companies as well as global organizations serving the Fortune 500. VRstudios offers VR services for entertainment and commercial enterprises.

In Portland, DOWA-IBI Group promoted Tonie Esteban and David Johnson to senior associate, Kenneth Riddle and Rebecca Stuecker to associate, and Jennifer Gentry to marketing manager. Also in Portland, it hired Rebecca Seward as an architectural intern, Julie Condon as an architect and Marta Lilly as an interior designer. In Seattle, it promoted Jeremy Theodore to senior associate and hired Carl Laegreid as an architectural intern. Esteban has nearly 15 years of experience. Johnson has 20 years of experience designing educational, health care, corporate and commercial projects. Riddle has over 12 years of experience. Stuecker works on school design and is a leader of the committee on sustainability. Gentry has over 10 years of experience. She will help move the strategic plan forward. Seward has over seven years of experience in construction management and worked for Project H Design in California. She is working on Sunset Primary School for West Linn-Wilsonville School District. Condon has over 15 years of architectural experience. Lilly became interested in educational design while teaching. Theodore is an architect with a master's in engineering and prior construction experience. He is education practice lead for the Seattle office. Laegreid holds a master of architecture degree from Iowa State University and a bachelor of arts degree from Hastings College in Nebraska. DOWA-IBI Group focuses on K-12 projects in Oregon, Washington and California.


In Portland, Bassetti Architects promoted Joe Echeverri and Julie Flattery to senior associate. Echeverri is working on Roosevelt High School for Portland Public Schools and is project manager for City View Charter School in Hillsboro, Ore. Flattery is marketing director for the firm, which she joined in 2011. She has collaborated with the principals in developing a strategic marketing approach.


In Seattle, OAC Services promoted Chris Heger to associate and Phil Baker to senior project manager. Heger has over 25 years of experience in health care, biopharmaceutical and office projects. Baker has over 13 years of industry experience, with skills in estimating, project management, change order management and project engineering.

DCI Engineers hired Roxanne Grimm to lead a new division in the civil engineering department that will offer right-of-way consulting in Spokane and Seattle. Grimm is an associate principal and right of way division manager, and will work in the Spokane office. She was with Epic Land Solutions, and has worked with Spokane and the Washington State Department of Transportation. She is a mediator and real estate broker. DCI has offices in Washington, Oregon, California, Texas and Alaska.
Scott Harm of Power Engineers was elected to the executive council of the Western Council of Architectural Registration Boards. Harm is an architectural client relations manager in the facilities business development group of the global consulting engineering firm. The Western Council is the largest region in the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. Harm chairs the Washington State Board of Architectural Registration.
Secretary of State Kim Wyman has appointed Cindy Aden director of the Washington State Library. Aden is a former president of the Washington Library Association and has worked at Amazon, Corbis and community newspapers. The state library also operates the Washington Talking Book & Braille Library in Seattle, and libraries in state prisons and mental hospitals.
Noo-Kayet Development Corp. and Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe hired David N. Malone to direct hotel operations for The Point Casino & Hotel when it opens late this year. He has decades of experience in management at Holiday and Marriott, including new properties and struggling hotels. He worked for Shee Atika Inc., the urban Native corporation for Sitka and was executive director for the Port of Kingston. The 94-room in North Kitsap County will be adjacent to The Point Casino.
