Carney Badley Spellman

Christopher A. Wright has joined Carney Badley Spellman in Seattle as a principal in the construction department.

Workforce Information Advisory Council

Cynthia Forland, director of the Washington Employment Security Department's Labor Market and Performance Analysis Division, has been named the new chairperson of the Workforce Information Advisory Council. The federal committee includes workforce and labor market experts, and makes recommendations to the U.S. Secretary of Labor.

PCL Construction Services

Wiehe

Aaron Wiehe is the new vice president and district manager for the Seattle operations of PCL Construction Services. Wiehe joined PCL in 1998 and has worked on the SeaTac Air Traffic Control Tower, the Bravern Signature Residences, and the SR 520 Eastside Transit corridor. In 2012, he transferred to PCL's Hawaii office and in 2015 to its San Diego office. Wiehe holds a bachelor's degree in construction engineering and management from Purdue University, and is a LEED AP and DBIA Associate.

Quadrant Homes

Bellevue-based builder Quadrant Homes promoted Bryan Jones to vice president of sales and marketing, and Spencer Wutherich to the new position of vice president of purchasing and multi-family operations. Prior to joining Quadrant, Jones was senior vice president for Solution Partners NW, where he managed the company's Quadrant Homes sales team. Wutherich previously was general manager for Woodinville Lumber, one of Quadrant's longtime vendors.

Burlington-based Skagit Bank said Drew Smith has been hired as vice president and commercial loan officer in the Bellingham office. The bank has offices in Skagit, Snohomish, Whatcom and King counties.

Maglio Christopher & Toale

Maglio Christopher & Toale, P.A., a national law firm focused on complex medical product litigation, has opened a West Coast office in Seattle on the 35th floor of Columbia Center. The managing partner is Altom Maglio. The firm also has offices in Washington, D.C., and Sarasota, Florida.

It also handles federal takings and complex civil litigation.

QuadMed

QuadMed, a Wisconsin-based provider of health and wellness centers for employers, added Joel Johnson as general manager for the Pacific Northwest region. Johnson is based in Portland, and will focus on expanding in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and northern California.

Hamann joins Tarragon

Hamann

Tim Hamann has been hired as a senior development manager for Tarragon. Previously director of construction at Kimco Realty, his future projects will include the 150,000-square-foot expansion of Sunrise Village retail complex in Puyallup. That property currently has 350,000 square feet.

Hamann has a certificate of commercial real estate development from the University of Washington.

CHH Top of the Town April 27

The nonprofit housing developer Capitol Hill Housing, whose current projects include Liberty Bank Building, has announced its annual Top of the Town fundraiser will be Thursday, April 27 at the Sorrento Hotel. Perkins Coie represented Samis

Skanska is doing demolition for the 38-story 2+U tower at 1201 Second Ave., which is expected to open in 2019. The law firm Perkins Coie said it represented the Samis Foundation on the 99-year ground lease for the site. The Perkins team was led by attorneys Heidi Beck and Katherine Wax.

ULI meeting on ST3

The topic of the March 22 breakfast meeting of the local chapter of Urban Land Institute is “Developers Assemble! ST3 & Beyond.” Voters approved the $54 billion Sound Transit 3 measure last fall. Speakers will be Sound Transit CEO Peter Rogoff and planner Ric Ilgenfritz, Wright Runstad's Greg Johnson, and Barrientos + Ryan's Kristin Neil Ryan. Caring Transitions of North Puget Sound

Jim Burnett and Chris Seaver have opened a new business called Caring Transitions of North Puget Sound. Caring Transitions is a national franchise specializing in helping seniors move and downsize, and handling estate liquidations. The company has 200 branches in the U.S. Burnett and Seaver will serve Everett and greater Snohomish County. Services will include organizing, packing, moving, liquidations and preparing homes for sale.

Lane Powell named Lisa Sterritt director of human resources. She most recently was Seattle office administrator at Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt.

UW Bothell

Blakey

Anne Marie Blakey has been named assistant vice chancellor of marketing and communications at the University of Washington Bothell. She has been chief communications officer for the provost's office and held other leadership positions at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. She also was director of public relations for Mount St. Mary's University.

Citi Private Bank

Citi Private Bank added Jorge Valcarcel in Seattle as an investment counselor serving ultra-high net worth clients. Valcarcel worked at Parametric Portfolio Associates in Seattle and Credit Suisse Asset Management in New York and Zurich.
