Bellevue-based Symetra Life Insurance Co. named Jon Stenberg executive vice president of the Individual Life Division. Stenberg will be based in Waltham, Massachusetts. He was with RiverSource Life Insurance Co.

Cost Plus World Market

Cost Plus World Market has relocated two stores in Washington state. The Olympia store is now at Capital Mall at 2401 Fourth Ave. W. and the Bellevue store is now at Crossroads Bellevue at 15600 NE Eighth Street. The California-based retailer sells furniture, decor, jewelry and accessories from around the world.

JND Legal Administration

Jennifer Keough, CEO and co-founder of JND Legal Administration, is a finalist for Female Entrepreneur of the Year in the 14th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. Finalists were chosen from more than 1,500 candidates. Winners will be announced Nov. 17.

In Seattle, global design firm Gensler hired Marc Oplinger as a senior project manager. Oplinger has over 25 years of design management experience, most recently at Graphite Design Group, where he led restaurant, mixed-use and other projects. His clients have included Vulcan, Clise Properties and Restaurants Unlimited. At Gensler, he leads mixed-use, office, commercial and residential projects.

In Redmond, Otak hired Dave Cole as a senior civil engineer and project manager, Bob Doherty as a senior structural engineer, Shailee Jain as an engineering designer and water resource analyst, and Janna Langhi as a structural designer. Cole has 30 years of experience, and is working on the NE 40th Street Stormwater Trunk Extension for Redmond. Doherty has 17 years of experience on bridge and retaining wall projects, and is working on the North Creek Trail for Snohomish County. Jain has done hydrology, water planning, conservation, GIS and water availability, surface water and spatial modeling, and is working on drainage retrofits for Burien, Redmond and Shoreline. Langhi is an engineer-in-training who is working on the Zackuse Creek culvert replacement for Sammamish. Otak provides engineering, architecture, urban design, planning and project management.

In Tacoma, BCRA hired Jessi Marquardt as a landscape architect, Savannah Linders as a civil engineering associate, Laurel Swaney and Christie Andresen as associates, and Matthew Staley and Evan Hill as architectural designers. Marquardt is working on education and YMCA projects. Linders is a Washington State University graduate. She has worked on aspects of civil and structural engineering design, with a focus on public works. Swaney and Andresen support projects across the company. Staley and Hill recently graduated from WSU's architecture program. Staley works on education projects. Hill provides architectural support on multifamily projects. BCRA offers architecture, interior spaces, civil engineering, structural engineering, land use planning and landscape architecture.

BOE architects of Tacoma hired Anne Beatrice Baker as a project architect. Baker holds a bachelor's in architecture from the University of Cincinnati and a master's of architecture from Columbia University. She is working on the Northwest Vipassana Meditation Pagoda.

Bremerton-based Blue Architecture + Interiors hired Jason Barry as a project manager and Kathy Barrett as a designer. Barry has over a decade of health care design experience, and is in that studio. He is working on a mixed-use project in Poulsbo overlooking Liberty Bay. Barrett's specialty is architectural visualization, rendering and animation. She is working on mixed-use, assisted living and house projects.

BLRB Architects

Jensen

BLRB Architects promoted Jonah Jensen to associate principal in its Portland office. Jensen was hired in 2006 and has been a designer, architect and project manager on K-12 projects. He will work on modernization of Gresham High School and projects for Kalama School District. Tacoma-based BLRB is focused on educational architecture.
