In Bellevue, Stantec promoted Wayne Wright to water sector leader. In Spokane, it promoted Riley Witt to senior associate. In Anchorage, it promoted John Limb to senior associate in the transportation practice and Giovanna Gambardella to senior associate in architecture. In Fairbanks, it promoted Jason Thoma to associate in the buildings engineering group. In Portland, it promoted Dick Talley to vice president and Eric Ward to principal, both in the water practice, Jim Gilbert to senior principal in the power group and Lyle Sweeney to senior associate in the oil and gas practice. Wright is a principal scientist with nearly 40 years of experience. He has a background in natural resource and environmental impacts, biological assessments, fish passages, wetland, stream and storm drainage assessments. Witt is a senior planner and project manager with 10 years of experience in commercial appraisal valuations, real estate project and portfolio management, real estate acquisition, and negotiations for owners and investors. Limb is a senior civil engineer with 17 years of experience on airport and aviation infrastructure, water and wastewater projects, and roadway projects. Gambardella has 18 years of experience in architecture and is architectural services manager leading the team for vertical construction in Alaska. Thoma is a senior mechanical engineer with 20 years of experience on airport landside, education, health care and hospitality projects. Talley is civil engineer with 31 years managing projects for water and waste water projects primarily in public infrastructure design and construction. Ward is a project manager and senior engineer with 21 years of experience in planning, design and construction of local water storage reservoirs, pump stations and conveyance pipelines. Gilbert has over 30 years of commercial experience in the power industry and structured commodity origination. He works in renewable power, commercial origination, power marketing, power plant development, structured commodities, asset purchase and sale, construction management, plant feasibility analysis, and waste-to-energy. Sweeney is a mechanical engineer with leadership experience in field engineering, mechanical design, and project execution in the oil and gas industry for pipelines, refinery, and upgrader settings. Stantec provides engineering and design services for buildings, transportation, water, waterpower and dams, and environmental services projects.

Seattle-based Weber Thompson promoted Kirsten Clemens to senior associate, Erin Hatch to marketing director, Allison Rose to digital marketing specialist, and Noelle Galicia, Susan Frieson and Michele Richmond to associate. Clemens joined Weber Thompson in 2012. Her work has included Helios, a downtown Seattle high-rise. Hatch, hired in 2012, directs marketing and external efforts, leads marketing planning for the design studios, and trains staff in marketing and business development. Rose was hired in 2016. She is responsible for the firm's digital presence, generates content for award submittals, and supports marketing and outreach. Galicia joined the practice in 2013 and is in the mid-rise studio. She is working on Marlowe, a component of a project at 425 Fairview. Frieson was hired in 2013 and is in the high-rise and hospitality design studios. She is working on Elan, a multi-building, mixed-use project in Bellevue. Richmond is a landscape architect and project manager who has contributed to the Othello Square master plan. Weber Thompson provides architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and community/urban design.

In Seattle, Revel Consulting named Harshit Parikh managing director for technology services. Parikh has nearly 20 years of IT experience, and held software development and technical architect roles at Microsoft and Accenture. Revel is a technology consultant with offices in Seattle and San Francisco.

Buchalter

Three former Foster Pepper partners joined Buchalter's new Seattle office. Jeffrey G. Frank is managing shareholder and Brad P. Thoreson and Doug Prince are shareholders. Other attorneys in the office are Sherman Helenese, previously with Garvey, Schubert & Barer, and Mitchell J. Olejko, a shareholder in Buchalter's Health Care Practice Group who now practices out of San Francisco and Seattle. Buchalter is based in Los Angeles.

Crosslake Technologies

Bellevue-based Crosslake Technologies hired Wayne Filin-Matthews as global head of software strategy. Filin-Matthews was global head of digital architecture at HSBC Retail Banking and Wealth Management in Hong Kong. He has more than 30 years of IT experience, including nearly a decade at Microsoft. Crosslake helps companies build and run software.

Pioneer Square Labs

T.A. McCann joined Seattle-based start-up studio Pioneer Square Labs as a managing director. McCann is an angel investor and former Microsoft executive who founded Senosis, Gist and Rival IQ. He teaches entrepreneurship at the University of Washington Foster School of Business. At Pioneer Square Labs, he will help lead the entrepreneur-in-residence program.

Ste. Michelle Wine Estates

Woodinville-based Ste. Michelle Wine Estates signed a five-year agreement with Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits to distribute its products in Alaska, Oregon, Utah, Western Washington and Wyoming. The two companies have worked together for 30 years.

Sound Generations

Wigfall

In Seattle, Sound Generations picked Jim Wigfall as its new CEO. Wigfall, a longtime executive at Boeing, replaced interim CEO Susan Doerr. He holds an MBA from the University of Tennessee and has more than 30 years of executive experience. Sound Generations, formerly known as Senior Services, is a nonprofit serving older adults and adults with disabilities in Washington state.

Operation Warm

Sherran

Operation Warm, a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit providing new coats to kids in need, hired Linda Sherran as Seattle-based partnerships manager. Sherran has a background in fundraising for Seattle Art Museum and Seattle Symphony. She holds a master's degree in nonprofit management from New York University.

Washington UTC

Mark L. Johnson takes over today as executive director of the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission, replacing Steve King, who is retiring after 35 years with the commission. Johnson was the UTC's director of administrative services. Prior to joining the commission in 2017, he was CFO of the state Department of Agriculture.

Greenwood Physical Therapy

Greenwood Physical Therapy opened a second clinic, at 3290 N.E. 65th St. in Ravenna, staffed by three therapists: Erin Patterson, Mallory Berschauer and Lisa Quinn. Its rehab equipment includes a Pilates reformer, treadmills and exercise bikes.

UW Tacoma

KeyBank Foundation made a $300,000 grant to the University of Washington Tacoma for the Opportunity Academy in the school's Center for Career Development & Education. The academy will have two focuses: professional development opportunities for students; and internships and employer outreach.

Forma Construction Co.

In its Olympia office, Forma Construction Co. hired Alex Chicano and Nolan Fraley as project engineers; Christine Grantham as payroll specialist; and Brittany Hellwege as project accountant. Chicano is working on the Chehalis Elementary School replacement. He has seven years of industry experience, and holds a bachelor’s degree in administrative management from Central Washington University. Fraley, a retired Marine Corps corporal with three years of project management experience, is working on the Centralia High School replacement. He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Washington. Grantham spent six years as an administrative support assistant for the U.S. Army in Germany. Hellwege has eight years of estimating and accounting experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree in photography from California State University, Fresno.
