KLBM

International business management and accounting firm KLBM relocated its headquarters from Los Angeles to Seattle. The new office is at 520 Occidental Ave. S. in Pioneer Square. Many of KLBM's clients are athletes, musicians and entertainers. Kristin Lee, KLBM founder and managing director, said Seattle was picked because it's a growing destination for entertainment businesses and “one of the great music cities of the world.” The company maintains an office in Los Angeles.

Skilljar

Skilljar, a Seattle-based online training software provider, hired Samuel Sunderaraj as vice president of sales. Sunderaraj has 20 years of experience in technology sales at firms such as ExtraHop Networks, LiveStories, Limelight Networks and Simply Measured.

Oregon BEST

Portland-based Oregon BEST has changed its name to VertueLab. The 10-year-old nonprofit helps clean-tech startups get products to market, and is expanding to raise investment funds for companies. VertueLab is also offering more support services to startups, such as mentoring, access to funders, funding for prototypes, R&D grant application assistance and connections to university experts.

In Burlington, Trico Companies hired Mark Kim as project manager, Roger Kee as senior project engineer and Olivia Schatz as office assistant. Trico also promoted Sarah Silvas to project coordinator. Kim has 10 years of experience in commercial construction, and holds bachelor's degrees in construction management and economics from the University of Washington. Kee has almost 25 years of experience in procurement, contract management and construction project support. He is a UW graduate and served seven years in the Navy. Schatz was a sales intern at Matsunami Glass USA and graduated this month from Western Washington University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Silvas holds an associate's degree from Whatcom Community College, and is a volunteer firefighter and EMT.

In Seattle, Lease Crutcher Lewis promoted Josh Van Kirk, Darya Saber and Michael Dunahoe to project managers; and Mike Myers to superintendent. Van Kirk 13 years of industry experience, five with Lewis. He is working on the Washington State Convention Center expansion. Saber has been in construction since 2006 and joined Lewis in 2012. He is working at the Rainier Square redevelopment. Dunahoe has been in construction since 2004 and with Lewis since 2016. He is working at Seattle Genetics. Myers has been at Lewis for 20 years and is working on a Boeing project.

Fisher Phillips

Attorney Jeffrey Winchester joined the Seattle office of Fisher Phillips, a national labor and employment law firm representing employers. Winchester worked in the firm's Las Vegas office from 2006 to 2010, and most recently was in-house employment counsel for Caesars Enterprise Services. The Seattle office opened in 2015 and has 14 attorneys.

BECU

BECU will open a neighborhood financial center next year in Gig Harbor. The 2,800-square-foot branch will be in the Village at Harbor Hill, near Harbor Hill Road and Borgen Boulevard. It will have a “tellerless” layout, and offer mortgages, personal loans, auto loans and business services. BECU is a community credit union.

Ernst & Young

Eight Northwest people won 2018 Entrepreneur of the Year awards from Ernst & Young. The Pacific Northwest region winners are eligible for national awards. Here are the NW winners: Claudia Mitchell, co-founder and CEO of Universal Cells in Seattle; Cole Morgan, co-founder and CEO of Snap! Mobile in Seattle; David Wasielewski, managing partner of Din Tai Fung Restaurant in Bellevue; Eugenio Pace, co-founder and CEO of Auth0 in Bellevue; Mike Fritz, CEO of DWFritz Automation in Wilsonville, Oregon; Olowo-n'djo Tchala, founder and CEO of Alaffia in Olympia; Sean Muller, founder and CEO of iSpot.tv in Bellevue; and Werner G.
