At its Seattle headquarters, Hart Crowser hired Amanda Hultz as a geologist and Mike Shaljian as a hydrogeologist. In Honolulu, it hired Karl Bromwell as a principal environmental scientist, Faith Caplan as a senior associate environmental planner, Shyun Ueno as a geologist, and Simone Simbeck, Brittany Cody and Matthew Fong as environmental scientists. Hultz holds a bachelor's from Western Washington University. She is working on highrise development and landslide repair, and supporting the in-house geotech lab. Shaljian holds a master's from Washington State University. He will work on environmental investigations. Bromwell has over 30 years of environmental consulting experience in Hawaii. He has worked on stormwater permitting and environmental impact statement/environmental assessment planning, Phase I and II environmental site assessments and ecological appraisals, and managed large on-call contracts. Caplan has over 25 years of environmental impact statement, National Environmental Policy Act, environmental planning and permitting experience. Her work has ranged from Hawaii Environmental Policy Act projects to a $25 million environmental impact statement for military actions in the Pacific. Ueno holds a bachelor's in geology and geophysics, and is working on geotechnical investigations for building and roadway foundations, and geologic hazards such as rockfalls. Simbeck has 12 years of experience in stormwater management and environmental monitoring, investigation and compliance. She has managed multicultural projects, been a marine environmental dredging specialist for Koniambo Nickel SAS in New Caledonia, owned an environmental consultancy in New Zealand, and worked for Washington Department of Ecology's marine monitoring unit. Cody has six years of experience in stormwater permitting and Phase I and II environmental site investigations, and is a inspector for sediment and erosion control. She has a background in database management, technical data compilation, and making complex data easily understandable. Fong has a bachelor's in natural resources environmental management from the University of Hawaii and a background in soil and water sampling, and environmental compliance for geothermal and stormwater projects. Hart Crowser is an engineering, science, and consulting firm.

In Seattle, Elliott Bay Design Group hired Alina Shrestha as a naval architect and John Moser as a marine engineer. Shrestha joined EBDG as a contractor in 2017. She is an engineer and researcher with experience in vessel repair, design and analysis, material planning, construction management, regulatory compliance and inspection. She will be responsible for design, construction and repair of vessels. Moser is a Texas A&M University at Galveston graduate who was a firefighter and emergency responder in Central Texas. He will develop analyses, drawings and technical reports and provide engineering support to project managers. EBDG provides naval architecture, marine engineering and production support services.

McKinstry

In Seattle, McKinstry promoted Allen Range to chief technology officer. Range will lead the company's enterprise technology team while partnering with business lines to integrate technology to better serve clients. He was senior director of IT operations. McKinstry is a national design, build, operate and maintain firm.

DOWL

Zemke

In Redmond, DOWL hired Lizzie Zemke as a wetland scientist. Zemke has nearly 30 years of experience in Washington that includes securing environmental permits for infrastructure projects, wetland and plant ecology, ecological restoration, and sustainability strategy. She has managed environmental projects for federal, state and local clients.

Rice Fergus Miller

Rice Fergus Miller, a Bremerton-based architecture, interior design, planning and visualization firm, hired Anita Rossen as health care practice leader in its health care, hospitality and housing for seniors studios. Rossen is a health care specialist who has done facilitation, planning, and design for Seattle's Children's Hospital, and BC Women's and Children's Hospital in Canada.

In Anchorage, Stantec hired Dean Cimmiyotti as Alaska survey manager. Cimmiyotti has 40 years of experience on public and private projects, including over 25 years in project management. Besides surveying, he has a background in photogrammetry and lidar acquisition and mapping. Past clients include the Municipality of Anchorage. Stantec provides engineering, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying, environmental sciences, construction services, project management, and project economics.

Farallon Consulting

In Irvine, Farallon Consulting hired Brian Kahl as a senior geologist. Kahl has over 30 years of experience managing environmental liabilities, evaluating environmental impacts, and implementing remedial solutions in the public and private sectors. For the past eight years, he has focused on emerging technology applications for chlorinated solvent–related site investigations, vapor intrusion assessments, and remediation.

Maurice Mason joined Cannon Fish Co. in Kent as national sales representative. Mason was business development manager at Ocean Beauty Seafoods, marketing manager for Trident Seafoods' Costco account, and a broker with Anderson Daymon Worldwide and NAI'A Natural Products in Seattle. Cannon, a seafood processor and marketer, is a subsidiary of Aleutian Pribilof Island Community Development Association.

College Success Foundation

College Success Foundation named James Dorsey as president and CEO. Dorsey has 35 years of leadership experience, and was executive director of Washington MESA and president of MESA USA. He takes over Aug. 1 from interim president and chief advancement officer Michael Cheever. The Bellevue-based foundation helps low-income students finish high school and graduate from college.

First Sound Bank

Patrick M. Fahey retired as board chair of Seattle-based First Sound Bank. Fahey was president and CEO of the bank from 2012 to 2016, and spent 50 years in banking. Steven J. Schwartz, a board member since 2006, is the new chair. Schwartz is a senior vice president with CBRE Group in Seattle, where he advises tenants on occupancy and leasing.

In Seattle, Walsh Construction Co. promoted Greg Linnell to senior project manager; Fik Mulugeta to assistant project manager; Sean Hamelin to superintendent; Alex Kilcup to concrete trade assistant superintendent; and Nick Silbaugh, Eric Storhaug, Eric Brandon, Jeremiah Phillips and Jonathan Chow to assistant superintendents. Linnell joined Walsh in 2003 as a project engineer and was promoted in 2007 to project manager. He is working on the Lake City Family Housing and LIHI Little Saigon projects. Mulugeta joined the company in 2013 as a project engineer and was promoted in 2017 to project engineer II. He is working at the Bellevue College Student Housing project. Hamelin joined in 2016 as a journeyman carpenter, and is working on a project in Grays Harbor. Kilcup started at the company in 2013 as a laborer and was promoted in 2015 to foreman. He is on the Spring District II project. Silbaugh joined in 2015 as a project engineer, and is working on the Ainsworth & Dunn project. Storhaug, Brandon, Phillips and Chow all joined in 2014 as project engineers. Storhaug and Brandon are working on the Spring District II project; Phillips is on the Wesley Homes Des Moines project; and Chow is on the DESC North 96th Supportive Housing project.

Tony Stewart returned to Skanska, as vice president of design construction integration in Seattle. Stewart comes from executive roles at McKinstry and the Northwest division of Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at Skanska overseeing business development for the Northwest, and 10 years as an architect with NBBJ.
