Carney Badley Spellman

Carney Badley Spellman hired Thomas K. Windus as a principal attorney practicing surety law, James T. Graves as a business associate attorney, Eric M. Liberman as a litigation and construction associate attorney, and Nicholas O. McCann as a litigation associate attorney. The firm has offices in Seattle and Olympia.

Millennium Bulk Terminals

Bill Chapman is retiring after four years as president and CEO of Millennium Bulk Terminals-Longview. Chapman joined the company to guide it through the permitting process for a $680 million coal-export terminal in Longview. He was a lawyer at K&L Gates prior to joining Millennium. Kristin Gaines, senior vice president of regulatory affairs, will lead Millennium's effort to build the terminal. Millennium is a subsidiary of Lighthouse Resources, an operator of coal mines in Montana and Wyoming.

Department of Commerce

Robin Toth and Julia Terlinchamp are the newest members of the state Department of Commerce's strategic economic development team. Toth, former vice president of business development at Greater Spokane Inc., will head the state's public-private efforts in aerospace. Terlinchamp left Gov. Jay Inslee's staff to lead life sciences/global health sector development.

Pro Golf Discount

Pro Golf Discount opened a new store and practice facility on Northeast 20th Street in Bellevue. The 9,200-square-foot store replaces Pro Golf's old location about a block away. It has a fitting lab staffed by former PGA professional Rick Fehr. Jackson|Main Architecture designed the space.

Propeller Airports

Propeller Airports signed a five-year deal with Republic Parking for parking, valet and curbside concierge services at Paine Field in Everett. Propeller is building a passenger terminal at Paine that is expected to open this month. Republic is an Impark subsidiary.

Hailemelekot

In Tukwila, The Walsh Group hired Teme Hailemelekot as assistant project manager and Patrick Gubelli as project superintendent. Hailemelekot comes from Jay Dee Contractors and has experience with scheduling, project management, document control and change management. He is working on Sound Transit's Tacoma Hilltop Link extension. Gubelli comes from Kiewit Infrastructure West. He also is working on the Hilltop project.


Lease Crutcher Lewis

Patel

Pinkal Patel was promoted to cost engineer at the Seattle office of Lease Crutcher Lewis, where she is working on a Microsoft project. Patel joined Lewis in 2014 as an accountant.







Rafn Co.

Bellevue-based Rafn Co. is marking its 40th anniversary. The company was started by Jack and Marilyn Rafn after a neighbor requested they undertake the renovation of Seattle's historic Nord Building — an early negotiated renovation project when design-bid-build was the industry standard. The company now has 110 staff.
