Bellevue-based BitTitan hired Dr. Uzma S. Burki as vice president and chief human resources officer. Burki has over 20 years of business and HR experience. She was an HR executive with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and has held similar roles with Battelle, Amtrak and American Red Cross. BitTitan helps IT service companies automate cloud technologies.

Neighborhood House

In Seattle, Neighborhood House appointed Janice Deguchi as executive director of the social service agency. Deguchi is executive director of Community for Youth. Prior to that, she was COO of Keiro Northwest and executive director of Denise Louie Education Center. Deguchi will start in September, following the retirement of Mark Okazaki, who has led the organization for 19 years.

Burke

Hunter Burke was promoted to health, safety and environment manager for Graham Construction & Management’s Buildings Northwest sector. Since joining Graham as a senior HSE coordinator, Burke helped elevate Graham’s safety culture and assisted project teams with pre-planning, critical incident response and L&I investigations.

KeyBank

Hill

Matt Hill returned to KeyBank in Seattle as market president. Hill was market president of commercial banking for Union Bank in the Pacific Northwest. Before that, he worked for nearly seven years at KeyBank, as a director and managing director with KeyBanc Capital Markets. He succeeds Carol K. Nelson, who retired last month. KeyBank is based in Cleveland.

HomeStreet Bank

Seattle-based HomeStreet Bank on Sept. 20 will close its branch in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The move is part of the bank's plan to consolidate operations and improve efficiency. Customer accounts will automatically be transferred to the Lake Grove branch, which is about 3 miles away.

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard

Capt. Dianna Wolfson is the new commander of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility in Bremerton. Wolfson replaces Capt. Howard Markle, who has lead the shipyard since 2015.

In Seattle, Zipwhip hired Faye Ricci as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. Ricci has over two decades of transactional, operational and risk experience at major national law firms. She also was a vice president at both Bank of America Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan Chase Bank. Zipwhip is a cloud software company for business texting.

Brotherton Cadillac Buick GMC

Brotherton

Brad Brotherton, owner of Brotherton Cadillac Buick GMC in Renton, was named 2019-20 president of the Washington State Auto Dealers Association. Founded in 1920, the association has 294 dealer members.

Alaska Air Group

Andrea “Andy” Schneider was promoted to senior vice president of people at Alaska Airlines and Matt Prainito was promoted to vice president of station and inflight operations for Horizon Air. Schneider was vice president of inflight and call center services. She began her career at Alaska in 1989 as manager of financial accounting. Prainito was managing director of station operations. He joined Alaska in 1997 as a customer service agent in Los Angeles.

Fortive

Industrial Scientific, a subsidiary of Everett-based Fortive, signed a deal to acquire Intelex Technologies for about $570 million. Toronto-based Intelex develops web and mobile software for environmental health safety and quality management. Pittsburgh-based Industrial Scientific develops connected sensing technology. Fortive is a professional instruments and industrial technologies company.

Hudson Pacific lands fashion startup at King Street Crossing

505 First building

The local subscription-based fashion rental startup Armoire has leased a long-vacant, triangular 7,500-square-foot space in the 505 First building, part of Hudson Pacific Properties' King Street Crossing complex. The floor-through space also fronts along Alaskan Way South, which will be removed from the shadows when Kiewit and Ferma finish demolishing the viaduct this fall. HPP told the DJC this spring that the retail at 505 First Ave. S., a building originally developed for Starbucks (which never occupied it), had been vacant for a decade. Erika Koehler and Anne Marie Koehler, then with JLL, were the brokers representing HPP. Three-year-old Armoire, led by CEO Ambika Singh, rents women's clothing to monthly subscribers (starting at $149 per month) and supplies fashion recommendations by algorithm. The 505 First building is sometimes still identified with longtime tenant EMC, now Dell EMC.
