Kelsch

Attorney Bethany Kelsch joined the Seattle office of Stoel Rives. Kelsch counsels private owners and developers on various real estate and real property matters, with an emphasis in title due diligence and resolution of easement and boundary matters. She started her legal career at a commercial real estate management and brokerage company, where she learned both the business and legal sides of the real estate trade.

Greater Seattle Partners

Greater Seattle Partners and Korea SMEs & Startups Agency signed a deal to promote knowledge sharing, strengthen ties and foster relationships with small- and medium-sized Korean enterprises looking to open in the Seattle area. The deal coincides with KOSME opening a business incubator in Seattle, its first in the Pacific Northwest.

Swedish bed company Duxiana moved to Suite 130 in Bellevue's Design Market, at 1048 116th Ave. N.E. It replaces Duxiana's store on 102nd Street in Bellevue.

Seattle-based landscape architecture firm Gustafson Guthrie Nichol promoted Kara Weaver to senior associate and Laurel Li, Alex McCay, Hannah Vondrak and Joanie Walbert to associate. Weaver has nearly 15 years of experience designing and documenting public projects ranging from conceptual and interpretive master plans to precise detailing and tight grading over structure. She is project manager for Civic Park at Hemisfair in San Antonio, Texas, the Health Sciences Education Building at the University of Washington in Seattle and the master plan for John Trevino Jr. Metropolitan Park in Austin, Texas.

Li was hired in 2015. She has worked on Umekita 2 in Osaka, Japan, Oceanwide in San Francisco, California, and Cedar Town Center Master Plan in Woodinville. McCay has a background in business. His design work at GGN has included Hazelwood Green Plaza in Pittsburgh, the Civic Park at Hemisfair, and Rainier Square in Seattle. Vondrak joined GGN in 2016 and has worked on the Athens Chancery major rehabilitation at the American Embassy in Athens, Greece, 900 New York in Washington, D.C., and the REI Headquarters in Bellevue. Walbert was hired in 2015 and has worked on public parks to private campuses, including Long Beach Civic Center in California, and Smith Cove Park and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Campus, both in Seattle.

Seattle-based architecture and interior design firm Clark Barnes promoted Mike Hatcher to associate. Hatcher has over 15 years of architectural experience, the last four as project manager for multifamily, commercial and civic projects. His recent work includes Elara, a 150-unit apartment project near Pike Place Market, and the 77-unit Adell Apartments near Alaska Junction.

Steven A. Samuelson joined Schnabel Engineering as a senior associate engineer in the Seattle office. Samuelson is a civil engineer experienced in structural analyses of hydraulic structures. He specializes in computer modeling of concrete dams and has evaluated concrete arch, buttress and gravity dams. He has been a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission-approved independent consultant since 2002 at 21 sites in the West and Midwest. Schnabel participates in planning, study, design and construction of geotechnical, dam and tunnel engineering projects.

In Portland, architecture firm SRG Partnership promoted Laurel Danielson, Bethany Gelbrich and Trevor Lavoie to senior associate, Leslie Boll to associate and Jordan Iseler to marketing manager there. In Seattle, SRG promoted Mike Canales and Kristopher Chan to associate.

Danielson, a designer, has nearly 30 years of experience and has led interior design and architectural projects. Her key projects include Multnomah County Central Courthouse, the Oregon Health & Science University Knight Cancer Research Building and libraries, labs and academic buildings. Gelbrich has 18 years of architecture experience which includes the University of Oregon Jane Sanders Stadium, Washington State University Bohler Gym programming, and other sports and higher education projects. Lavoie has 18 years of experience including higher education science and research facilities such as the University of California, Davis Equine Performance Center and the Washington State University Veterinary and Biomedical Research Building.

Boll, SRG's brand designer, has over 15 years of experience. She is responsible for the graphic design and branding of SRG's print, web and collateral materials, as well as the art direction of photography. Her environmental graphics work includes Salt Lake City Community College Westpointe Career and Technical Education Center. Iseler is marketing manager in Portland. She has a background in architecture and has managed the project-pursuit process and marketing and business development initiatives. Canales has five years of experience with a background in construction documents and administration. His work includes the Alaska Airlines Lounge at Sea-Tac Airport and the Museum of Flight Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park. Chan has six years of experience on architectural design projects. He is working on Hayward Field at the University of Oregon and the EvergreenHealth aging infrastructure and seismic improvement project in Kirkland. SRG provides programming, planning, architecture and interior design.

Spokane-based PotlatchDeltic hired Michele Tyler as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Tyler has over 20 years of law experience, most recently as senior vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary at Vectrus in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She will succeed Lorrie Scott, who is retiring at year end. PotlatchDeltic is a REIT that owns timberlands in Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota and Mississippi. Through a subsidiary, it also operates six sawmills, a plywood mill, residential and commercial real estate developments, and a rural timberland sales program.

T-Mobile

T-Mobile opened a lab in Bellevue that tests smartphones and other devices that will connect to the 5G spectrum. The 20,000-square-foot lab has over a dozen testing areas where engineers analyze everything from network signal quality to software.

Mission Support Alliance

The Department of Energy awarded Hanford Site contractor Mission Support Alliance an honorable mention in the Outstanding Sustainability Program/Project category of its 2019 Sustainability Awards. Hanford contractors last year installed LED lighting, downsized transformers, dismantled outdated roadway lighting and updated ventilation systems. That helped save over 1.2 million kilowatt hours of electricity. Mission Support Alliance is the team of Leidos and Centerra Group.

DeMaris has over 25 years of industry experience and has estimated, planned, bid and led proposals for billions of dollars' worth of projects. Bry has over 13 years of construction experience, with nearly 10 years at Abbott. Churchill has been with Abbott for 13 years. In his newly created role, he is responsible for leading preconstruction for multiple projects. Catalano started at the company four years ago, supporting the Special Projects Division. She has over 10 years of construction experience.

Bill Polis is the new business development director at Graham Construction & Management in Seattle. Polis has over 35 years of construction business development and executive management experience. Canada-based Graham builds multifamily, retail, health care, life science, K-12, higher education and office buildings.

Zachary Kramer joined The Walsh Group in Seattle as assistant project manager II. Kramer was a project engineer on two of the Manhattan Project legacy sites (Hanford and Los Alamos) and developed/qualified a unique nuclear grade HEPA filter. He is working on the Pivot apartments.

Jay Barringer joined Ash Grove Cement Co. as a sales representative in the Bellevue office, covering western and central Washington, as well as Alaska. Barringer was operations officer for the Navy's Regional Support Organization, Pacific Northwest in Everett. He holds a bachelor's in political science from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.

In Kent, Hermanson Co. promoted Scott Sinclair to construction executive of the Critical Environments Group. Sinclair has over 29 years of experience as a mechanical designer, preconstruction manager and project manager. He specializes in high-performance buildings such as hospitals, biomedical and pharmaceutical labs, and data centers. Hermanson provides mechanical construction, design-build engineering and service/maintenance.
